Piazza Bovio in Piombino looking out to Elba Island. Many people only skirt Piombino to get to the ferry port, but the old part is charming with cobbled streets, restaurants & bars and Piazza Bovio is great for a swim and a stroll.

The only entrance to the tiny, medieval hamlet of Populonia. Inside, on the one, main street are shops, bars and restaurants like the delicious fish restaurant

Memories of our favourite after dinner palate cleanser/tipple this summer at , the SGROPPINO 🍋 which doubles as a dessert, so what’s not to like 🤷🏻‍♀️
👇RECIPE:
(I do it by eye/taste, but here’s a proper recipe from ):

• 100g lemon sorbet
• 1 shot chilled vodka
• 1 shot chilled sparkling wine or prosecco
• A few fresh mint sprigs

Put the lemon sorbet in a martini glass or tall dessert glass. Pour over the vodka and sparkling wine or prosecco. Use a tiny whisky spoon to break apart the sorbet and mix everything together. Top with a few mint leaves to serve.
(Or lemon zest, as I’ve done)

Plus, limoncello is so passé, isn’t it!?

Beach bed heaven. We tend to flop our towels on the free beaches but if this is more your thing, there are lots of these establishments to choose from up&down the coast. This one is by restaurant
