A Verona sta iniziando il tempo delle ciliegie.

Da sempre presenti sulle colline e sulle nostre tavole, il loro profumo è anche uno dei più riconoscibili nei vini della Valpolicella.

Le ciliegie fanno così parte della quotidianità veronese da comparire anche negli affreschi, come nell’Ultima Cena della Basilica di San Zeno, dove si vedono sulla tavola tra i dettagli della scena.

Cherry season is beginning in Verona.

For centuries, cherries have been part of the hills surrounding the city and of local tables, while their aroma remains one of the most recognizable notes in Valpolicella wines.

Cherries are such a familiar part of Verona’s daily life that they even appear in local frescoes, like in the Last Supper inside the Basilica of San Zeno, where they can be seen on the table among the details of the scene.

Riuscite a immaginare spari, galoppi e urla riecheggiare tra le mura di Verona… e perfino nell’Arena?

Accadde davvero, quando Buffalo Bill arrivò in città con cowboy, Sioux e centinaia di cavalli trasformando Verona in uno spettacolo incredibile di tende, polvere e racconti del Far West, durante il suo viaggio in Italia che fece tappa anche a Venezia.

Era il 1906, e per qualche giorno la città diventò il punto d’incontro tra due mondi lontanissimi.

È anche questo che amiamo della nostra città: storie inaspettate, dettagli nascosti e angoli che continuano a sorprendere chi la vive davvero.

Can you imagine gunshots, galloping horses and distant voices echoing through Verona… even inside the Arena?

It really happened, when Buffalo Bill arrived in the city with cowboys, Sioux warriors and hundreds of horses, turning Verona into an incredible spectacle of tents, dust and Wild West stories during his Italian tour, which also stopped in Venice.

It was 1906, and for a few days Verona became the meeting point between two distant worlds.

That’s also what we love about our city: unexpected stories, hidden details and corners that still surprise those who truly experience Verona.

spazi pensati per essere vissuti.

Bisogna rallentare abbastanza da vederli.

È anche per questo che amiamo ospitare chi sceglie di vivere la città con più tempo, non solo attraversarla.

Rientrare a orari diversi.
Avere ancora un luogo che resta interamente vostro.

Prima dei muraglioni di Riva Sant’Alessio,
qui esisteva una piccola Verona affacciata sull’acqua.

Case costruite lungo il fiume,
demolite negli anni Trenta durante la trasformazione della zona.

Tra chi cercò di salvarle ci fu Angelo Dall'Oca Bianca, che dipinse più volte questo paesaggio destinato a scomparire.

Oggi, camminando nel quartiere,
alcune tracce sembrano ancora restare.

Before the embankment walls of Riva Sant’Alessio,
a small riverside Verona existed here.

Houses built along the water,
demolished in the 1930s during the transformation of the area.

Among those who tried to protect them was Angelo Dall'Oca Bianca, who painted this disappearing landscape many times.

Today, while walking through the neighbourhood,
some traces still seem to remain.
