Lucca, a charming city in Tuscany, Italy, is known for its well-preserved Renaissance architecture and historical significance. Its intact 16th-century city walls surround the old town, offering a scenic walkway with views of the area. Lucca boasts many Romanesque and Gothic churches within these walls, such as the Cathedral of San Martino and the Basilica of San Frediano, which are famous for their beautiful facades and art.

The Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, built on an ancient Roman amphitheater, exemplifies how Lucca blends history into its city design. The narrow cobblestone streets, elegant buildings, and medieval towers, like the Torre Guinigi's rooftop garden, add to Lucca’s timeless and picturesque charm.

The celebrates 850 years!
Its construction began in August 1173, while the inauguration had to wait until 1373. There were many long interruptions, also due to some attempts at 'straightening' the tower. But today the whole world is lucky enough to be able to admire this masterpiece.
