Am Südhang von Volterra gelegen, wurde die Villa Le Guadalupe seit 15 Jahren zu einem Ort, an dem künstlerische Arbeiten entwickelt und geprobt, Symposien und Werkstätten organisiert werden. Villa und Lage
Um 1850 errichteten die Tangassi, bedeutende Volterraner Alabasterkünstler, am Südhang von Volterra über einem alten Bauernhaus die Villa Le Guadalupe – auf halber Höhe Richtung Meer, auf der H
orizontlinie der Hügel jenseits des Val di Cecina. Mit der Villa Le Guadalupe schufen die Tangassi einen Ort, der im Austausch mit der Landschaft eine Welt in sich ist. Sie ließen die Villa mit Fresken ausmalen. Die bildnerischen Erfindungen und Farben, die Wände und Volten bedecken, treten in Dialog mit den Tönen der Natur und den Schattierungen der Hügel. 1858 wurde die Kirche des Anwesens der Madonna di Guadalupe geweiht, der Schutzheiligen von Mexiko, wo die Tangassi als viaggiatori dell’alabastro ihr Glück gemacht hatten. Treffpunkt und Werkstatt
1982 fand Wolfgang Storch die Villa Le Guadalupe. Seitdem entwickelte sich das Haus zum Treffpunkt für Künstler und Wissenschaftler, für neugierige, interessierte, schöpferische und visionäre Menschen. An diesem inspirierenden Ort werden Gespräche geführt, Ideen entwickelt, Projekte erdacht, Konzepte diskutiert, Produktionen erarbeitet und Publikationen vorbereitet. Die Villa Le Guadalupe versteht sich als Werkstatt, die sich in Auseinandersetzung mit Geschichte und Gegenwart künstlerischen und gesellschaftlichen Themen stellt, um Entwicklungen zu reflektieren und Neues anzuregen. Exkursionen durch geistige und geographische Landschaften
Von der Villa Le Guadalupe aus finden seit einigen Jahren Exkursionen statt. Sie gehen die kulturellen und künstlerischen Phänomenen nach, die in der Toskana begründet sind oder sie geprägt haben: die Erkundung einer an naturgegebenen, architektonischen, künstlerischen und spirituellen Momenten reichen Kulturlandschaft zur Entdeckung kultureller Geschichte und Gegenwart. The Villa le Guadalupe is situated on the southern hillside below the historical Etruscan town of Volterra, with beautiful views across the hills of the Cecina valley, which meanders towards the sea about 30 miles away. The Villa was erected in the 1850’s by the Fratelli Tangassi, a family of Volterran artisans who made their fortune by selling their exquisite works of alabaster in Mexico. The Villa was built on top of an existing farmhouse and a small chapel was added on its side, dedicated to the Madonna of Guadalupe, the patron saint of Mexico. The Villa is thriving on a vibrant dialogue with its surroundings. The picturesque interior, decorated with abundant frescos, seems to communicate with the light and shade of the rolling hills and sky. Venue and Workshop
Wolfgang Storch found Villa Le Guadalupe in 1982 - or better: the Guadalupe found him. Since then the house became a venue, a meeting place for artists and scientists, for curious, interested, creative and visionary people. At this inspiring place conversations and discussions are held, ideas are developed, concepts reflected, projects invented and publications prepared. The Villa Le Guadalupe understands itself as a workshop engaged in artistic and cultural topics by dealing with history and present, reflecting developments and changes as much as encouraging new processes. Since some years, starting from the Villa Le Guadalupe, excursions are following cultural and artistic phenomena which are originated in Toscana or which affected it. Aside touristic pathes the excursions aim on exploring a unique cultural landscape overwhelmingly rich with naturegiven, architectonic, artistic and spiritual moments - a discovery of cultural history and presence. Attorno al 1850 i Tangassi, famosi alabastrai volterrani, costruirono la Villa Le Guadalupe su una vecchia casa contadina - a mezza altezza tra Volterra e la Val di Cecina. Scelsero un posto ideale da dove il paesaggio toscano si rispecchia in un ampio panorama, uno spettacolo di natura. Con la Villa Le Guadalupe i Tangassi crearono un luogo che, nello scambio col paesaggio, si presenta come un mondo a sé. Fecero dipingere la villa con degli affreschi. Le invenzioni delle immagini e dei colori, che coprono pareti e volte, dialogano con le tonalità della natura e le ombreggiature delle colline. Nel 1858 la chiesetta del podere fu consacrata alla Madonna di Guadalupe, Patrona del Messico, dove i Tangassi, viaggiatori dell’alabastro, avevano fatto la loro fortuna. Luogo d'incontro e cantiere
Wolfgang Storch trovò la Villa Le Guadalupe nel 1982. Da allora la casa diventava un luogo d'incontro per artisti e studiosi, per persone curiose, interessate, creative e visionarie. In questo posto ispirato vengono sviluppati idee e progetti, produzioni e pubblicazioni. La Villa Le Guadalupe si intende come cantiere dove si affrontano argomenti artistici e mondani, sempre in reciprocità con la storia e col presente, riflettendo sviluppi e stimolando nuovi concetti.
