ADVANCING JUSTICE SECTOR REFORM THROUGH PRIVATE SECTOR ENGAGEMENT
The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ), through its National Security and Justice Committee, hosted the Honourable Chief Justice Bryan Sykes on October 20, 2026, for discussions on court administration reform, the proposed court self-maintenance model and the administration of the Judiciary’s budget.
The engagement explored ongoing efforts to strengthen court administration, improve case clearance rates, enhance financial management and develop court infrastructure, while supporting greater operational efficiency and access to justice.
What’s next? The PSOJ’s NSJ Committee has expressed its willingness to continue dialogue and explore opportunities for collaboration with the Judiciary in judicial administration, mediation and capacity development.
A well-functioning justice system is an important part of Jamaica’s institutional and economic development. Through continued stakeholder engagement, the PSOJ is working to ensure that private sector perspectives contribute to constructive dialogue on reforms that matter to Jamaica’s future.
