🎥 🇯🇲 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲! The 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 is returning to 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗰𝗮, from 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟵–𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲! After a seven-year hiatus, we are proud to present the 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the festival next month. This year's program will largely focus on 𝗝𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, showcasing films that explore the island's 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, and 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 while fostering 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲, 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆, and 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. The herbicide industry depends on you not knowing what you are looking at.

Ten plants growing freely in your garden right now are edible, medicinal, or both. Your ancestors knew all of them by name.

- DANDELION leaves contain more vitamin A and C than spinach. The root is a documented liver tonic. The whole plant is edible.

- CHICKWEED is one of the first spring greens available. Mild, nutritious, and anti-inflammatory when used as a poultice.

- STINGING NETTLE has more iron than spinach. Cooking removes the sting entirely. Also the basis of one of the oldest antihistamine teas in European herbalism.

- PLANTAIN, the roadside w**d not the banana, is one of the most effective first aid plants alive. Chew a leaf and apply it to a sting or bite.

- PURSLANE is the highest plant source of omega-3 fatty acids on earth. Eaten across the Mediterranean for thousands of years. We pull it from our vegetable beds.

- WOOD SORREL tastes like lemon and grows in almost every garden in the world.

- CLEAVERS steeped in cold water overnight is one of the oldest spring tonics in European folk medicine.

- FAT HEN was eaten since the Stone Age. Seeds were found in the stomach of Tollund Man. We spray it with herbicide.

The w**d is not the problem. Forgetting what it is for is the problem.
