$126,000 was raised for Charity and Benevolence at a dutch auction at the festive board of the regular October meeting of the Francis Haddon Bowen Lodge.
The winner was Ambraee Houslin. Pictured with him are Rishard Brown, Master and Michael Fisher, Director of Ceremonies and several members of the lodge.

Friday, October 16 marked a truly memorable evening as Brethren came to witness the conferral of the Third Degree on Sebastian Guilbard. A profound and meaningful night!

Under the leadership of Jamal Anderson, Master and his administration, the degree work was executed with precision and reverence. The craftsmanship displayed was a true testament to the commitment the officers brought to their roles.

As is the cherished tradition, brethren gathered after for a wonderful festive board, where the serious work of the lodge gave way to fellowship, laughter, and the bonds of brotherhood that make Freemasonry so special. Good food, great conversation, and even better company.

In a dignified ceremony at Kingston College Lodge # 9469, the newly installed Master Damion R. Atkinson, was welcomed into his office by the District Grand Master, Thomas Charles Smith, Grand and District Grand Officers, and a distinguished gathering of members and visiting brethren representing all 3 constitutions. The Installing Master, Dr. Stephan A.I. Neill and his dedicated working team, under the direction of his father, Gary Neill as Director of Ceremonies, for the last time, carried out their duties with precision and grace, ensuring every moment of the ritual reflected the highest traditions of the Craft.

The District Grand Master spoke warmly of the new Master’s commitment and , expressing heartfelt congratulations to him and his administration as they embark on their year of service. His words underscored the confidence and goodwill felt by the entire District toward the new leadership team.

The evening’s festive board was a joyous celebration, bringing together many guests who joined the brethren in raising loyal toasts to the newly installed Master and his administration for 2026 / 27. The room echoed with good wishes and camaraderie as family, friends, and visitors shared in the proud moment.

With fine food, lively conversation, and the warmth of fellowship, the festive board provided a fitting end to an evening of ceremony and celebration, leaving all present uplifted by the bonds of brotherhood.

A momentous evening of recognition and brotherhood!

Heartfelt congratulations to Winston G. Wright, Past District Junior Grand Warden, who was honoured with the prestigious Caribbean Jewel of Merit, the highest accolade our District can bestow. This distinguished award was presented by District Grand Master, Thomas Charles Smith in recognition of Winston's extraordinary and unwavering dedication to University Lodge of the West Indies and the District Grand Lodge of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.

The evening was graced with meaningful tributes from Donovan Summers (Past District Grand Standard Bearer) representing lodge members, Owen Smith (Senior Warden, Francis Haddon Bowen Lodge), and from Garth Williams (Jamaica College Lodge) for all Chancellor Hall alumni now practicing the Craft.

The banquet that followed beautifully exemplified the true spirit of Freemasonry, a remarkable display of brotherhood and camaraderie that moved the awardee to tears. Moments like these remind us of the profound bonds we share and the genuine values at the heart of our Craft.

Royal Lodge No. 207 — Charity Initiative 2026–2027

Royal Lodge No. 207 has adopted the theme “Equipped to Learn, Backpack to the Future, Supplies for Success” for its Charity activities during the 2026–2027 administrative year. This initiative reflects the Lodge’s commitment to supporting the educational development and well-being of children within our communities.

On October 1st, Alwyn Nicely, Master of the Lodge, along with Dewayne Falconer, Charity Steward and Reaud Gafoor, visited St. Simon’s Basic School, in Admiral Town, St. Andrew.

The Basic School has 49 students, ranging in age from 2½ to 6 years old. In keeping with the Lodge’s charity theme, the brethren presented the school with 49 school bags, each filled with essential classroom supplies to assist the students in their daily learning.

Beyond the presentation of the school bags, the brethren spent the afternoon engaging with the children. The interaction created an atmosphere of warmth and fellowship as the children and members of the Lodge shared meaningful moments together.

The initiative was more than simply providing school supplies; it was an opportunity to encourage the children, demonstrate care for their educational journey, and remind them that their community believes in their potential.

St. Simon’s Basic School holds a special place in the history and heart of Royal Lodge No. 207 because of the significance it held for the esteemed Linton Andrews. In recognition and honour of his connection to the institution, the Lodge is proud to continue its support of the school and to carry forward a legacy of service, compassion, and commitment to the education of young children.

Through “Equipped to Learn, Backpack to the Future, Supplies for Success,” Royal Lodge No. 207 continues to demonstrate its commitment to giving back and investing in the future of our children. By equipping young minds with the tools they need to learn and succeed, the Lodge hopes to make a lasting and positive impact one child, one school, and one community at a time.

The Charity Committee, led by the Lodge Charity Steward, Dewayne Falconer, visited The Best Care Special School in Kingston 5. Joining him were members of the Lodge, including Dr. Reaud Gafoor, Master Alwyn Nicely, and Deanroy Anderson.

The brethren were warmly received by the Principal, Dr. Marcia Peak, and members of the school’s staff. The Best Care Special School currently has an enrollment of 107 students, all of whom have special educational needs. During the visit, Dr. Peak proudly highlighted the achievements of several students who were recently successful in the City & Guilds examinations.

As part of its charitable outreach, Royal Lodge No. 207 partnered with Dr. Reaud Gafoor to provide 40 school bags to the students. Each bag was filled with essential educational supplies, including writing books, pencils, printing paper, graph paper, and other school necessities.

Dr. Marcia Peak expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Lodge and all those who contributed to the initiative. Master Alwyn Nicely reaffirmed Royal Lodge No. 207’s continued commitment to supporting the school and indicated the Lodge’s willingness to assist with other projects that the school is currently considering.

The morning proved to be especially meaningful for the brethren, who had the opportunity to sit with the students, interact with them, and share in their experiences. The visit was a fitting demonstration of the values of service, compassion, and community that underpin the Lodge’s charitable work.

Royal Lodge No. 207 extends sincere thanks to all sponsors, donors, and brethren who contributed to making this outreach possible. Their generosity and participation helped make the occasion a memorable and meaningful one for the students and the wider school community.

"A Special Father-and-Son Moment at Hamilton Lodge"

Hamilton Lodge No. 1440 E.C. witnessed a particularly memorable occasion on October 1, 2026, when Brother Julian Morrison had the distinct honour of being the Proposer of his father, Carlton Morrison, for membership in the Lodge.
The occasion represented much more than the welcoming of a new Brother. It was a powerful expression of family, continuity and the enduring bonds of Freemasonry, as a son played an important role in introducing his father to the fraternity and to the traditions of Hamilton Lodge.

Carlton Morrison was warmly welcomed into the Lodge in an atmosphere marked by genuine fellowship and fraternal affection. Adding to the significance of the evening was the presence of Brethren from Lodges across Jamaica, who joined the members of Hamilton Lodge in sharing this special and historic moment.
For Brother Julian, the evening carried a unique personal significance. The opportunity to propose to his own father and then stand alongside him as he began his Masonic journey created a father-and-son memory that will undoubtedly remain special to both men for many years.

The photographs from the evening capture the spirit of the occasion, from the formality and dignity of the Lodge to the fellowship that followed. They reflect different generations of Freemasons gathered together, united by friendship, tradition and brotherhood.

For Hamilton Lodge, the evening of October 1, 2026 will be remembered as one in which family ties and fraternal bonds came together in a very special way.
The Brethren of Hamilton Lodge extend a warm welcome to Brother Carlton Morrison and wish him a rewarding and fulfilling journey in Freemasonry.
