The price is 90 US$ one way. Also you can reach Port Antonio easily by public transport. A minibus leaves from the main bus station in Kingston, Half Way Tree (reachable only by taxi from the airport),

about every hour it takes 2 hours to arrive at Port Antonio from which the hostel is within walking distance of 10 minutes, U walk following the road along the seafront passing Carder Park towards the west, turning right after the "cost u less car wash", which you will find on your right, and then turn left at the third street and step to almost the end of Campbell Ave. Or, arrived in down town/gasstation Port Antonio, you can take a "route taxi" to 24, Campbell Ave. My house up on the hill is not easy to find, short before the big yellow house #24 Campbell Ave there is a small path up - just step up to the very end of this path!!!! No worry just ask Carlene in the shop she will call me.

As you guys noticed, Iā€™ve been posting content that has nothing to do with food in recent times- because there is some BIG & IMPORTANT stuff happening on this island!
The DIY skate gully is progressing bit by bit. And pls take the DIY part literally- because itā€™s really a group of friends, 1 mason & money pitched in thatā€™s driving this project. Recently weā€™ve received few contributions too and we also got some exciting news today- but youā€™ll find out later šŸ˜„ The project was also featured on TVJ Smile Jamaica yesterday morning! .
However to build the ā€œcomplexā€ type obstacles, a little more funding will be needed. Thereā€™s a crowdfund thatā€™s now set up - with a modest goal- that can help take this project to the next level. The link is in my profile.
While Iā€™m a huge supporter of street & urban culture, this is really about the IDEA of transforming spaces. Of transforming a non functional abandoned gully that could had become a sewage treatment plant (with the sewage water feeding straight into the sea?!!?!) to now a DIY skate park- that will also happen to be the first skate park in JA. Itā€™s about supporting these young people who blow me away with their determination to not wait- and just get things done. Itā€™s about trying to create a culture- even if skate boarding is not a ā€œbig thingā€ in this country. Most of all- itā€™s about doing things for the right reasons šŸ™‚ , Gio, and those showing up to get the work done .beckford.art you guys are just awesome. .
