カリンパニ閉館のお知らせ（2021年3月）
新型コロナウイルス感染拡大によりご不便な生活をされている皆様におかれましては、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。
当館は２０２１年２月末に宿泊施設としての営業を終了いたしました。
長らくご愛好いただき、誠にありがとうございました。
尚、カリンパニ（旧ニセコ藤山小学校校舎）は現在フレンチビストロChez DouDou シェ＝ドゥドゥとして活用されております。人気のレストランとともに味わいのある木造校舎と広いグランドをどうぞお楽しみください。

【お知らせ】

早いものでもう10月！　朝晩寒くなってきました。冬も間近ですね。春からほぼ休館にしておりましたカリンパニですが、取り急ぎ冬のお知らせをいたします。

2020年10月〜2021年春まで、諸事情により、ひきつづき宿はお休みいたします。当館のご利用を予定されていた皆様には大変ご迷惑をおかけします。

一方で、この冬はニセコのビストロフレンチ Chez Doudouさんが、当館の食堂スペースで活動する予定です。

今年５月まで蘭越湯の里でレストランを運営され、美味しいフランスの家庭料理に地元をはじめ多くのファンを持つお店。新しい店舗を探しながら、今は出張シェフとしてご活躍されています。今後の詳細については、Chez DoudouさんのホームページやFacebookなどで11月頃から告知されてゆく予定ですので、どうぞ楽しみにお待ちください！

新年あけましておめでとうございます
本年もよろしくお願いします🍀

ひと月ほど前にカリンパニはおかげさまで８周年を迎えることができました。ニセコでの冬も11シーズン目に入ります。
ここまでの道のりにおいて、ほんとうに多くの方々に支えていただき、無事に宿と暮らしを続けることができました。今年も無理せず、それでいてまた新たな目標も掲げつつ、目の前のことをこなしていこうと思います。

今シーズンのカリンパニクルーは、いつもカリンパニを支えてくれているシェフのケイさん、ベンに加え、ニセコの雪が大好きなジョー、フランシス、ウィルに、もうじきやってくるアダム！世界中からのゲストさんとともに楽しい滞在となりますように！

After a Christmas bonfire with guests last night, we woke up to a nice top up of fresh snow this morning. Santa might have come a day late, but we'll take it!
Looks like lots more snow on the way into the New Year too. We're all pretty excited to see more backcountry terrain open up as the bamboo grass finally gets covered and winter gets into full swing here in Niseko.

We’re open for Winter!!

Our first guests arrived on the weekend, there’s snow on the ground and we’re looking forward to sharing another awesome Niseko winter with visitors from around the world.

We’ve made a few renovations to Karimpani over summer. The dorms are now properly soundproofed and we've upgraded our heating system. Pretty sure that’s going to come in handy over the next few months!

We’ve updated our website and are going to try to up our social media game this winter too.

In the Karimpani kitchen, we’re excited to have our amazing local chef Kei-san back this season. So much so that we’ve started another Instagram account to capture his culinary feats and let our guests know the story behind our food.

We’re also happy to welcome Jo and Frances to our team this winter. These two have taken time out from professional careers in Hong Kong to experience Niseko ski life. Good luck girls - we hope it’ll be a good snow season for you and our guests. Long time friend-of-Karimpani, Adam, will also be back in January, along with a new addition, Will.

On the guest list, it’s great to see a few familiar faces returning to Niseko this year. If you’re coming back, it'll be great to see you again. We’re also excited about meeting all our new guests and introducing them to our favorite corner of Hokkadio.

The snow started dumping this afternoon and our winter seasonaire Jo got her first taste of Hokkaido snow driving. Luckily, she proved just as capable plowing through Niseko powder as dodging traffic back home in Hong Kong. Karimpani guests, rest assured; your transport is in safe hands.

Like many long-term visitors at Karimpani, Jo is here on the Wwoof Japan program, which encourages travelers to experience local life in the communities they visit. For Hokkaido locals, navigating the backroads through two clear arches on a white windscreen in the middle of a snowstorm is a core life skill!

One of the great things about Niseko (apart from the snow) is the fresh food.
Today we visited our local egg supplier near Kutchan to collect stocks for our winter guests' breakfast. What a spot! The henhouse has better views of Yotei than half of Hirafu!!

Ski season is officially underway in southern Hokkaido!

Annupuri (Niseko United) and Rusutsu opened lifts for winter 2019/20 yesterday. Despite limited early-season cover, Rusutsu has 10 of their 37 runs open already. Annupuri has only its bottom lift turning with access to the beginner slope.

Winter conditions are forecast to return tomorrow and with snow forecast through the week, it won’t be long until more terrain opens up.

We’re pretty excited about how the mountain will be looking by the time we open the lodge for our first guests in three weeks!

While Annupuri and Rusutsu are the first major resorts to spin up the lifts, many mid-winter visitors to Hokkaido might not have heard of the first place to open on Hokkaido this season: Nakayama-Toge Ski Resort. Extreme snowfall (even by Japanese standards) forces this small ski area between Niseko and Sapporo to shut down through most of winter. It’s a similar story up north at Kurodake Ropeway ski area in Daisetsuzan National Park, which opened last Friday with a 120cm base already!
The chance to explore these less-visited areas and enjoy better weather, longer days, and less crowds is just one of the many reasons to consider skiing and snowboarding in Hokkaido from March to May.

If you are staying in southern Hokkaido for some time this winter and plan to ride some of the less-busy resorts within driving distance of Karimpani, you might want to check out some multi-resort passes.

The K-winter pass offers unlimited access to Rusutsu, Nakayama-toge, Sapporo Tiene and Sahoro resorts.
