Advice: Make friends with someone who owns a yacht.
46 feet of Beneteau yacht, Lucky Lady 7 is moored right in front of the launch site, making the marina the closest position to view Atami's fireworks from.
Thank you to the generosity of Captain Inaba and the crew, we enjoyed a hearty dinner and drinks on board, before being dazzled by one of Japan's most famous summer displays.
I also want to note that this has been the coolest summer we have ever experienced in Japan. The breeze was cool and we didn't feel the slightest sweat during the evening. If you chose summer adventures in Japan this year, you chose well!

髙の本店 Have you tried Hoppy? In the late 1940s, there was a shortage of beer🍺, so a new drink was created; combining white spirits with a beer- like mixer. Hoppy has its own special culture and history that is linked to mid 20th century nostalgia, and you can experience it in Atami.
We recognised the Monkey Magic actress, Natsume Masako, in a bikini poster. Were you in love with the monk, Tripitaka, too?

Learn more about glamorous Geisha and the huge hearts of the resilient people of Atami.

The show catches on to the stories of foreigners who come to Japan and they do this by interviewing people as they exit the airport. You can see our incredibly tired faces as we returned from Mongolia in February... Wonderful, but not the most glamorous moment.
I love to really immerse myself when we travel, so I wore my traditional Mongolian clothing on the flight. I'm glad that my favourite riding "deel" and mink hat were seen on TV.
Living in Japan, with Mongolia Just a few hour's flight away, is a dream life and we couldn't be more grateful.
