「ずく出し」とは長野の方言で「コツコツ努力する」という意味。逆に、反対言葉「ずく無し」は「のんびりする」との意味。
戸倉上山田は頑固な方が多いせいか、仕事は普通に出来ず、きちがいぐらい拘りを持って、誇りをもって働いている・生活している方が見えます。りんご農家、日本茶インストラクター、調理師会、それぞれのずく出しの姿を見ると刺激になります。
なおかつ、エコツアーというのは従来の受け身的な観光ではなく、街歩きや自転車乗りで汗をかけながら町の表面より深く掘りすがる。お客さんのずくだしによって、普段できない経験ができる。
そして、エコツアー事態は戸倉上山田の新しい取り組みになる。地域としてのずくだしとなればよいと思っている。
