本日より、ひと足早くロビーエリアが秋の装いとなりました。
今年で3回目の展示を迎える秋のオリジナル家紋アート作品「ペニンシュラ楓紋×現代楓図」は、伝統的な家紋を現代のアートへと昇華させる「京源」の三代目・波戸場承龍氏と四代目・波戸場耀鳳氏によって手掛けられました。
安土桃山時代の絵師・長谷川等伯が1592年頃に描いた国宝「楓図」を基に、当時の色彩を独自の感性でデジタル再構築した「現代楓図」を背景に、中央には楓の葉をモチーフに「P」の文字を織り込んだ、ザ・ペニンシュラ東京オリジナルの家紋を配しています。
112枚の美濃和紙に印刷された作品が、穏やかなロビーの空間に美しく調和し、秋の情景を彩ります。古くから日本で受け継がれてきた家紋の技と、現代的な感性が織りなす、日本の伝統美に新たな息吹を吹き込んだ作品を、ぜひお楽しみください。

As autumn approaches, The Lobby is once again filled with the rich colors of maple leaves. Returning for its third consecutive year, The Peninsula Tokyo + Kaede + Art offers a contemporary interpretation of Japanese heritage by renowned father-and-son artists Shoryu Hatoba and Yoho Hatoba.
Inspired by Hasegawa Tohaku’s National Treasure Maple View, painted around 1592, the artwork layers green and crimson maple leaves with The Peninsula Tokyo’s original maple-inspired emblem, featuring a stylized “P” for Peninsula. Measuring seven meters high and eleven meters wide, the artwork comprises 112 strips of Mino Washi paper, bringing warmth and serenity to The Lobby.
