After the rain… a little magic 🌿✨

With the sun finally out, I took a drive to Daiyuzan Saijoji Temple in Minamiashigara, a place said to hold special spiritual energy 🙏

Wisps of steam rose from the rain-soaked roads and stone steps in the sunlight. It was a beautiful, almost dreamlike sight.

Via the Hakone Kintaro Line, Minamiashigara is around a 40-minute drive from Sengokuhara in Hakone 🚗
Travel time varies depending on your destination and road conditions.

Along with Hakone Shrine, Kuzuryu Shrine, Sengen Shrine and Choanji Temple, why not include Saijoji Temple in your trip? 😊

雨上がり、幻想的なひととき🌿✨

久しぶりに晴れたので、ドライブへ。
パワースポットとしても知られる、南足柄市の大雄山最乗寺にお参りしてきました🙏

日差しを浴びた道路や石段から、雨の名残が湯気となって立ちのぼり、とても幻想的な景色でした。

はこね金太郎ラインができたことで、箱根・仙石原から南足柄方面まで車で約40分。気軽に足をのばせるようになりました👍

Tonight is the Harvest Moon in Japan 🌕✨

We were so happy to welcome Ha Chi-san back! 🇻🇳😆
After living and working in Japan for a year and a half, Hachi will return home to Vietnam next week 😭

Ha Chi-san told us that sleeping well is usually difficult, but after soaking in our onsen, it was a wonderful night’s sleep! ♨️😴

The warmth of the hot spring may have helped the body relax and encouraged a restful night 😊

Thank you so much for visiting us again before leaving Japan!

ハチさん🇻🇳がまた遊びに来てくれました！😆
日本で1年半お仕事をされていましたが、来週ベトナムに帰国されるとのこと😭

普段はあまりよく眠れない体質だそうですが、うちの温泉に入ったら、ぐっすり熟睡できたとおっしゃっていました！♨️😴
温泉の温熱効果で体がリラックスし、心地よい眠りにつながったのですね😊

帰国前にまた会いに来てくれて、本当にありがとう！

The sweet scent of osmanthus is beginning to fill the air in Hakone, and the weather is starting to feel like autumn 🍂

Do you know where this is? 😆

These precious photos were taken in Sengokuhara, Hakone, in the 1940s.

David and his daughter Michela, our wonderful guests, shared these photos with us! 📷✨

David’s mother was German, and the little girl in the photo is actually his mother! 🤩

During World War II, after being affected by the bombing of Yokohama, some German families found refuge here in Sengokuhara.

David’s mother also spent part of her childhood here, and she has many happy memories of Sengokuhara.

In 2010, David stayed at Fuji-Hakone Guest House and used these old photos as clues to trace the places connected to his mother’s memories.

This time, he returned with Michela! 😆

Looking closely at the shape of the mountains, we could still recognize some of the same places today. ⛰️✨

He also wrote this beautiful family story in our guest book.

Germany and Hakone have a little-known connection! 🇩🇪♨️🤩

Thank you so much, David and Michela, for sharing such a precious family story with us! 😊

これは1940年代の箱根・仙石原で撮られた、とても貴重な写真です。

先日ご宿泊されたDavidさんと娘さんのMichelaさんが、私たちにシェアしてくださいました！📷✨

Davidさんのお母様はドイツ人。実は、写真に写っている小さな女の子が、Davidさんのお母様です！🤩

第二次世界大戦中、横浜で空襲を受けたあと、一部のドイツ人家族の方々が仙石原に身を寄せていました。

Davidさんのお母様も、子どもの頃にこの仙石原で暮らしていたそうです。そして、仙石原には楽しい思い出がたくさんあるそうです。

Davidさんは2010年にもFuji-Hakone Guest Houseにご宿泊されました。その時は、古い写真を手がかりに、当館のオーナーと一緒に、お母様の思い出の場所を一緒に巡りました。

そして今回、娘さんのMichelaさんと再び仙石原へ！😊

山の形をよく見ると、「あ、ここだ」と分かる場所が今も残っていました。⛰️✨

Davidさんは、この美しい家族の物語をゲストブックにも残してくださいました。

ドイツと箱根には、素敵な知られざるつながりがあったのですね！🇩🇪♨️🤩

ちなみに、オーナーは、長い間、仙石原に住んでいたドイツ人が置いていった西洋のベッドで寝ていたそうです😮‼️

NEW COMPANY CAR!? 🚗✨
Well… it’s a little smaller than expected. 🤣

We built an obstacle course in our lounge for this mini Mercedes. It looks easy, but it took me about 10 tries to make it through! 😅
Think you can do better? Come give it a go!

Rain won’t stop the fun in Hakone! ☔️
Enjoy RC cars, kendama, UNO and dressing up as a samurai, then unwind in our private outdoor hot spring bath. 😊♨️

You can also discover world-class art nearby at the Hakone Venetian Glass Museum, Lalique Museum Hakone and Pola Museum of Art—whatever the weather. ✨

ラウンジに障害物コースを作って、ミニベンツでチャレンジ！
簡単そうに見えて意外と難しく、気づけば夢中に。。。
10回目くらいで、やっと成功しました😅
