5月にJAからバナナの苗を頂きました！
あっという間に大きく成長しました。
どこまで大きくなり、バナナが、いつできるか楽しみです。

I received a banana seedling from the agricultural cooperative in May!
It has grown big in no time at all.
I‘ｍ excited to see how large it will get and when the bananas will appear.

台風９号が過ぎ去り、港に、ウミガメが戻ってきました。
今年は、何匹のウミガメがいるのか、まだ確認できてません。

After Typhoon No. 9 passed, the sea turtles returned to the harbor.
We haven't been able to confirm how many sea turtles there are this year.

梅雨が明けました！
台風９号の影響で波が高いですが、快晴の１日でした！

赤イカ（ケンサキイカ）釣りに出船
船の運転にも慣れてきました。
ただ、船酔いだけは克服できず、酔い止めは必須です。

I went out on a boat to fish for squid.
I’ve gotten used to piloting the boat.
However, I still haven't been able to overcome seasickness, so motion sickness medication is a must.

台風に備え、雨戸を閉めました。
港には、船がありません。
小さな船は陸に上げ、大きな船は避難先の港へ

I closed the shutters in preparation for the typhoon.
There are no ships in the harbor.
Small boats have been pulled ashore, and larger ships have headed to other ports for refuge.

毎年お世話になっている農家さんの梅取りのお仕事を始まりました。
昨年並みの収穫が見込めそうとのことです。
もうすぐ梅雨入りで、じめじめした季節ですが、梅は一気に熟していきます。

I've started my annual plum picking job at a farm that I've been working with every year.
It appears that the harvest will be similar to last year's.
The rainy season is almost here, and it's going to be a damp and humid time, but the plums will ripen very quickly.

ケンケン釣りで鰹（カツオ）に挑戦
なんとか３匹獲れました。
（漁師さんは20匹程、釣ってます。）
天気は良かったのですが、波があり、船酔いで早上がり。

I tried my hand at bonito fishing.
I managed to catch three.
(The fishermen caught a lot more.)
The weather was nice, but there were waves, and I got seasick, so I headed back early.
