台湾・高雄出身のRuRuちゃん🇹🇼 あと1週間でEVERGREENでの勤務終了なんて、ほんとにあっという間すぎる…寂しい〜〜〜😭💚 台湾の文化のこと、台湾あるある、タピオカティーの好みとか、いろんな話をしたなぁ🧋✨ RuRuと話してると、台湾がもっと好きになるし、旅先で地元の人と話すってこういうことだよね〜っていつも思う🌏 RuRuに会えるラストウィーーーク！今週、みんなぜひ遊びに来てね🥹💚 平日はまだベッド空いてます！広島にいる人も、旅行中の人も、ふらっとEVERGREENへどうぞ〜🏠✨

來自台灣高雄的 RuRu 🇹🇼 沒想到再過一個星期，她在 EVERGREEN 的工作就要結束了，真的過得太快了…好捨不得😭💚 我們聊了好多台灣文化、台灣生活，還有珍珠奶茶的喜好🧋✨ 跟 RuRu 聊天的時候，總覺得更喜歡台灣了，也再次感受到旅行中跟當地人交流的美好🌏 這是可以見到 RuRu 的最後一週！大家快來找她玩吧🥹💚 平日還有床位喔！在廣島的朋友、正在旅行的朋友，都歡迎來 EVERGREEN 坐坐、住住、聊聊天🏠✨

RuRu is from Kaohsiung, Taiwan 🇹🇼 And somehow, she only has one week left at EVERGREEN… time went by way too fast 😭💚 We talked about so many things: Taiwanese culture, daily life in Taiwan, bubble tea preferences, and lots of little things that made me love Taiwan even more 🧋✨ Talking with RuRu always reminds me how special it is to meet people from different places and learn about their world 🌏 This is the last week to see RuRu at EVERGREEN! 🌏💚 10/31（土）出川イングリッシュタイム開催しまーす！

10月はイベントが多すぎてなかなか開催できないんだけど
月末にようやくやります！😆

英語が全然しゃべれない？文法めちゃくちゃ？単語しか出てこない？ぜーんぶOK！！だって「出川イングリッシュ」だもんwww

知ってる単語とジェスチャーを総動員して、とにかく相手に伝えてみよう！英語が上手になることより、いろんな国の人とおしゃべりを楽しむことが目的です😊

英会話スクールじゃないので、先生も授業もありません。間違いを訂正されたりもしません。ただし日本語は禁止！そして受け身で待ってるだけもNG！自分からどんどん話しかけてみてね。

今回は10時から14時までの4時間。ランチ持参も大歓迎🍙 お昼を食べながら、のんびりおしゃべりするのもいいよね〜！

こだわりなさすぎて「1000円カットとか普通に行くよ」って言うと、だいたいいつもめっちゃ驚かれる😂 でもさ、ちょっと揃えるぐらいなら全然よくない？美容院をたくさんの選択肢の中から探して、口コミ見て、メニュー選んで、予約して、その時間に合わせて行く…っていう一連の流れがほんと苦手すぎる。。 People are always so surprised when I say, “I sometimes just go to a 1,000 yen haircut place.” 😂 But honestly, if I just want a quick trim, isn’t that totally fine? Choosing a salon from so many options, checking reviews, picking a menu, making a reservation, and adjusting my schedule to that appointment… that whole process is just too much for me. It’s not that I don’t care about my hair at all. I just don’t want to spend that much energy on it. If they can just trim the ends a little, that’s enough for me ✂️ I guess I’m the type of person who is super particular about some things, and completely not particular about others.

ああ、そうそう。ホステルの壁にある、あの素敵な英語の引用を書いてくれたのは、まさにサミちゃんなんです。懐かしいね〜。この文字を写真に撮って残していくゲストも本当に多くて、それを見るたびに「やっぱり旅が好きな人には響く言葉なんだな」と思います。旅はいつも綺麗で快適なものばかりじゃないけど、心に残るものがある。サミちゃんが残してくれたこの言葉も、EVERGREENの空気の一部になっている気がします。おかえり、サミちゃん。🌿

Oh, and by the way, this beautiful quote on our hostel wall was written by Sami. It feels so nostalgic. Many guests stop here, read it, and take photos of these words. Every time I see that, I feel like this message really speaks to people who love traveling. Travel is not always pretty or comfortable, but it always leaves something in your heart. These words Sami left here have become part of the atmosphere of EVERGREEN. Welcome back, Sami. 🌿

よく『出川イングリッシュタイム』にもきてくれるLucyは、マンドリンを演奏したり、お茶席に招待してくれたり、いろんな言葉で雑談してくれたり。フットワーク軽く、何でも楽しそうにやってのけるLucyと接していると、いつも自分の見聞が少しずつ広がっていく実感があります。

今日は、Lucyにお誘いいただいた茶席へ。

場所は広島・牛田新町の不動院。室町時代から残る禅宗様建築で、金堂は広島市内唯一の国宝。原爆で被害を受けながらも、大きな焼失を免れて今も残っている貴重な建物です。広島に住んでいても、こういう場所にきちんと足を運ぶ機会って、意外と自分だけでは作れないもの。誘ってもらえたからこそ、またひとつ広島のことを知ることができました。

ちなみに私が行った回は5人だけで、ほんとはイス席もあったんだけど、正客だけが座敷に座る形だとちょっと見栄えが悪いということで、急遽わたしも正座組に。
茶席の空気はとても美しかったけど、足はマジで死ぬかと思ったwww

Lucy, thank you for inviting me to the tea gathering today.

Lucy plays the mandolin, invites me to tea gatherings, and chats with me in different languages. She frequently comes to English Time in my hostel.
Every time I spend time with her, I feel like my world gets a little wider.

Today’s tea gathering was held at Fudoin Temple in Hiroshima.
Fudoin is a historic temple in Ush*ta-shinmachi, and its main hall is the only National Treasure in Hiroshima City. It is a precious Zen-style building from the Muromachi period, still standing after surviving the war and the atomic bombing damage.
Even when you live in Hiroshima, it is not always easy to visit places like this properly by yourself.Because Lucy invited me, I got to learn one more beautiful thing about this city.

By the way, there were only five people in my session.
There were chairs, but since only the main guest was sitting on the tatami side, it looked a little unbalanced.

So suddenly, I also became part of the seiza group.

The atmosphere was beautiful.
My legs, however, almost died. lol

サミちゃん、おかえり〜！5年ぶりに、元スタッフのサミちゃんがEVERGREENに戻ってきてくれました。サミちゃんが前にいた頃は、まだコロナの真っ只中。いろんなことが本当に大変だった時期でした。サミちゃん自身も仕事がきつかったし、出国も思うようにできなくて大変だったと思う。私は私で、お客様が少なすぎて、毎日ひいひいしていました。笑 そんな時に、Zsoltとサミちゃんが長期でいてくれて。ただそこにいてくれるだけで、どれだけ気持ちが救われていたか、今でもよく覚えています。ホステルって、人が来て、人が去っていく場所だけど、こうやって何年も経ってまた戻ってきてくれる瞬間がある。それが本当にうれしい。あの頃の大変さも含めて、全部ちゃんと思い出になってるんだな〜と思いました。サミちゃん、またよろしくね！
Welcome back, Sami! After 5 years, our former staff member Sami has come back to EVERGREEN. When she was here last time, it was during the COVID period, and everything was really difficult. Her work was hard, and she couldn’t leave Japan easily. For me, the hostel had so few guests that I was honestly struggling every day. During that time, Zsolt and Sami stayed here long-term. Just having them here really helped me emotionally, and I still remember that feeling clearly. A hostel is a place where people come and go, but sometimes, years later, people come back. That makes me really happy. Even the hard times have become memories now. Welcome back, Sami. We’re so glad to have you here again.

【起床から就寝まで英語漬け。国内留学ステイ】
ホステルには毎日たくさんの海外旅行者が泊まっています。朝ごはんを食べる時も、ラウンジでくつろぐ時も、観光の相談をする時も、自然と英語が飛び交う環境です。英語を「勉強する」のではなく、「生活の一部として使う」。

1週間15,000円で滞在できるので、短期留学に比べればかなり気軽に挑戦できます。学生さんなら夏休み・冬休みのプチ留学としてもおすすめ！「英語だけで1週間生活してみた」という体験は、きっと忘れられない思い出になります。

国内留学プランについて、ちょっと補足です😊同様のお問い合わせを頂きました。

うちはあくまでゲストハウスなので、毎日の時間割や、みんなで参加するツアーを主催することはありません。ゲストもそれぞれの予定で旅をしています。
自分から話しかけて、仲良くなれたら「一緒にごはん行く？」「明日、宮島行かない？」なんてこともあるかもね〜、という感じです☺️ スタッフが予定を組んだり、お友達を用意したりするわけではありません！

このあたりは、海外に留学するのとほんとに一緒なんです。ただパスポートが要らないだけ。笑
そこに行けば自動的に友達ができるわけではないけれど、自分から関わってみることで、過ごし方が変わってくるんですよね。英語が上手じゃなくても大丈夫！知っている単語とジェスチャーで、まずは自分から「Hi!」と言ってみてください✨

A little note about our English immersion stay 😊
We’re a guesthouse, so there’s no daily timetable or organized group tour. Everyone staying here has their own travel plans.
If you start chatting and get along, it might turn into “Want to grab dinner?” or “Shall we go to Miyajima tomorrow?” ☺️ Those things happen naturally—we don’t arrange your day or friendships for you.
In that sense, it’s just like studying abroad. Being there doesn’t automatically mean you’ll make friends, but reaching out can really change your experience.
Your English doesn’t have to be perfect. Use the words you know, add some gestures, and start with a “Hi!” ✨
