「波に揺られようとも沈まない」

そんな意味を持つ言葉だそうです。

令和2年7月豪雨から、まもなく6年。

女将の徒然日記を更新しました。

A Latin phrase meaning:

"Tossed by the waves, but never sunk."

As we approach six years since the July 2020 floods, I found myself reflecting on these words.

The latest entry of my innkeeper's journal is now on the blog.

ふと目に入った景色や、
何気ない時間が、

何かをしなくてもいい。

静かな時間の中で、
少しずつ肩の力が抜けていく。

気づけば、
いつもより少しだけ、
ゆっくり呼吸している。

人吉温泉しらさぎ荘では、
ご高齢の方やお身体に不安のある方、
小さなお子様連れのお客様など、
すべてのお客様に安心して静かな時間をお過ごしいただけるよう、
スタッフによる「心のバリアフリー」を大切にしております。

当館は建物の構造上、 館内には段差や階段も多く、
車椅子でのご利用には対応しておりません。

しかしながら、
事前のご案内やスタッフによるお手伝いなど、
できる限りのサポートをさせていただいております。

どうぞお気軽にご相談ください。

As a certified “Mental Barrier-Free” accommodation recognized by the Japan Tourism Agency,
we would like to share the hospitality approach of Hitoyoshi Onsen Shirasagisou.

At Shirasagisou,
we value thoughtful and compassionate support so that all guests — including elderly visitors, families with children, and those who may need extra assistance — can spend a peaceful and comfortable time here.

Due to the structure of our traditional building,
there are stairs and steps throughout the property,
and we are unfortunately not fully wheelchair accessible.

However, through advance guidance and personal assistance from our staff,
we do our best to support each guest as much as possible.

the koi drift quietly through the pond.

From beyond the country road,
classic cars arrived one after another.

Today, guests participating in
“GO!GO! Rally in Kumamoto 2026”
visited Shirasagisou.

Beautifully aged cars,
beneath the blue skies of Hitoyoshi-Kuma.

There was something nostalgic about the moment —
like a scene from an old film.

A charity classic car rally,
driving across Kumamoto
with hopes for recovery and restoration.
