【時を超えた家族の絆🕰️川奈ホテルで繋がる80年のストーリー】
先日、オーストラリアからお越しいただいたPeter Leahyさまより、大変心温まるお写真とエピソードをご提供いただきました
1枚目のモノクロ写真は、今から約80年前の1946年4月に撮影されたもので、写っているのはPeterさんのお父さま、マイケル・リーヒさんです。
終戦後、当ホテルがGHQに接収されていた当時、オーストラリア海軍の「HMASワラムンガ」に所属していたお父さま（当時20歳）が、休養で川奈ホテルを訪れた際に撮影されました。
1984年にお父さまが他界された後も、ご家族はこの写真をずっと大切にされてきました。しかし、長年「これが日本のどこで撮られたのか」が分からなかったそうです。
そんな中、Googleマップを通じて見つけてくださったのが、ここ「川奈ホテル」でした。
そして今回、初めての日本旅行で「必ずこの場所へ」と当ホテルを訪れ、約80年の時を経て、お父様と同じ場所・同じポーズで写真を撮影されました📸
何十年もの時を超えて、大切なご家族の思い出が現代に蘇る… それもまた、歴史を刻み続ける川奈ホテルならではの魅力かもしれません。

【A Timeless Family Bond 🕰️An 80-Year Story Connected at Kawana Hotel】
We recently received a heartwarming story and wonderful photos from Mr. Peter Leahy, who visited us from Australia.
The black-and-white photo was taken in April 1946, nearly 80 years ago. The young man in the picture is Peter’s late father, Mr. Michael Leahy.
Following WWII, when Kawana Hotel was requisitioned by the GHQ, his 20-year-old father was serving in the Royal Australian Navy on the "HMAS Warramunga" and had the opportunity to rest at our hotel, where this photo was taken.
After his father passed away in 1984, the family continued to cherish this photo, but for many years, they had no idea where in Japan it was taken. That was until they searched on Google Maps and finally discovered it was Kawana Hotel!
On their very first trip to Japan, the family made it a priority to visit this exact spot. Almost exactly 80 years after the original photo was taken, Peter recreated the moment by taking a picture in the exact same location and pose. 📸
Bringing precious family memories back to life across the decades... we believe this is part of the timeless charm of Kawana Hotel.
