In the communal onsen USUKŌ, the white cypress wood creates a serene atmosphere that purifies both body and mind. A small zushi (Buddhist shrine) houses an o-fuda (sacred talisman) from Yakuoin Onsenji, the Buddhist temple of Yamashiro Onsen.

Lacquerware：Mokushikkou Tokeshi

「Mokushikkou Tokeshi」is a lacquerware studio in Okinawa founded and run by the artisans Hiroyuki and Ai Tokeshi, husband and wife. Both studied the art of Wajima lacquerware in Ishikawa Prefecture, where they refined their craftsmanship and artistic sensibilities.

Among the newly arrived pieces are the “Maruba-zara” plates, distinguished by their soft, flowing curves and beautiful, almost metallic hues. While rooted in the traditional techniques of Wajima lacquerware, their modern and light aesthetic makes them also well suited to everyday use.

漆器：木漆工とけし

「木漆工とけし」は、沖縄県に工房を構える、渡慶次弘幸さん・愛さんご夫妻による漆器工房です。お二人とも石川県で輪島塗を学び、技術と感性を磨かれました。

今回入荷した丸葉皿は、やわらかな曲線と金属のような美しい色彩が印象的な作品です。輪島塗の伝統技法を用いながらも、モダンで軽やかな佇まいに仕上げられており、日常の食卓にも取り入れやすい器です。

Prized for its rich, creamy crab miso, delicate texture and naturally sweet meat, the hairy crab sourced from Kaga Hash*tate Fishing Port is considered a rare seasonal delicacy in the region, as it is landed only in limited quantity.

At Beniya Mukayu, the hairy crab is featured as a course in our seasonal summer kaiseki, and a whole crab is also available upon request for those who wish to indulge.

加賀橋立漁港より届く毛蟹。

漁獲量が少なく市場にはあまり出回らない希少な存在です。濃厚な蟹味噌と、きめ細やかで甘みのある身が特徴です。

夏季のおすすめとして、季節の懐石料理の一皿にも取り入れておりますが、ご希望に応じて丸ごと一杯より追加でご注文いただくこともできます。
