Yuzu, a member of Magic who competed at
The Dance Worlds 2026,
didn’t return to Japan after the competition.
Instead, she stayed with us in Orlando, getting ready to begin a new chapter of her life at a school in Ohio.
Today, we finally dropped her off in the city that will become her new home.
As I watched her step into this new world,
I couldn’t help but feel a mix of pride, hope… and a quiet sense of emotion that’s hard to put into words.
I truly hope she embraces every moment,
keeps chasing her dreams,
and continues to shine—no matter where she is.
This time, we drove nearly 16 hours from Orlando to get her there.
And somewhere along that long road,
I found myself going back 30 years.
After graduating high school, I left Japan and moved to Oregon.
I chose that place because of one special reason—
the Bliesner family, who welcomed me as their own.
They gave me a kind of love I had never known before.
A love so genuine, so unconditional,
that even now, I still struggle to find the right words to describe it.
Back then, I was young and far from who I am today.
But through them, I learned something that would stay with me forever—
what it truly means to be grateful.
On my very first day,
they drove me more than two hours just to take me to my dorm,
to make sure I could start my new life with peace of mind.
That moment never left me.
So when I heard Yuzu would be studying abroad,
something inside me just clicked.
“This is my turn.”
Driving her across states,
watching the miles pass by,
feeling the silence, the conversations, the weight of the moment…
I realized that what I was feeling
was the same love that the Bliesner family once gave me.
If this journey, this small act,
can be even a fraction of returning that love,
then I couldn’t ask for anything more.
Yuzu,
I’ll always be wishing for your happiness from afar.
Laugh a lot.
Learn a lot.
And never forget how strong you are.
You’ve got this. Always.
