We found Bibi a year ago in our garden, under the Amanatsu (a type of Japanese orange) tree. She was tiny, malnourished, so we started feeding her small handfuls of cat food. One day she turned up in our garage, frail and wounded. The vet told us she may not survive but she made a full recovery. Our resident cat, Nato, was cautious around her, often growling and hissing towards her. However, she stood her ground, determined to make this her home, and was not scared away. She quickly became a member of our family.
For one year, Bibi made us laugh. Particularly her obsession with water - drinking from any vessel or ground that contained water, even though we left out a water bowl for her (which she refused to drink from). She would wake us up in the mornings by racing around our entire 2nd floor and scratching our mattress (maybe not as funny). She was full to the brim with love, never scratching or biting, hissing or growling.
Bibi was loving and carefree. In return she was loved by so many: friends, volunteers, guests, even strict dog lovers! And maybe even Nato. She taught us a lot - to live life to the fullest every day, to never give up, stay strong. We hope you have all the delicious fresh water on tap (or from a tap) and dried fish snacks to fill up your empty belly. Our funny girl, life is a bit bleaker without you around. We love you and miss you.
