Memories of your journey will help shape Kamakura’s green future.
A fundraising campaign featuring “original luggage tags” to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Hotel Metropolitan Kamakura. The generous donations we received from you (totaling 49,300 yen) have taken tangible form to help protect Kamakura’s rich natural environment.
The full amount of the donations was entrusted to the “Kitakamakura Spring Water Network,” an organization dedicated to satoyama conservation. The funds will be put to good use to cover the cost of saplings—such as wild cherry and wild hydrangea—that add color to the seasons, as well as the cost of maintenance equipment to nurture the forest’s health.
Recently, our hotel staff visited the site and planted saplings alongside everyone there, planting our gratitude into the soil 🌱 It was an irreplaceable moment that reaffirmed the preciousness of nature.
The goodwill entrusted to these luggage tags will serve as a powerful force to preserve the beautiful scenery of this ancient capital for future generations. We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who participated.

Today in Kamakura, the sky is gently overcast.
Even so, as I headed toward Yuigahama Beach, I could feel the early summer heat in the air.
The lively hula dancing at the “Kamakura Beach Festa” and the surfers at the water’s edge🌺🏄‍♂️
Just being blown by the sea breeze makes my heart race in anticipation of the dazzling season ahead.
It’s about a 20-minute walk from our hotel to the beach, or about 15 minutes by the Enoden train.
It’s the perfect stroll to cool off and relax after a day in the sun.
