鎌倉・和田塚のゲストハウス彩り（i-link-u）の取り組みを、約1年間取材してくださった朝日新聞・村上記者に記事にしていただきました🙇‍♂️

宿泊だけじゃない。
餅つき、子どもたちの居場所、高齢者の就労支援、地域の職人や漁師との連携……
ここはまるで「城」のような場所を目指してきました。
そしてこれからは「幕府2.0」へ。

鎌倉を拠点に、観光・食・体験・コミュニティをつなぐ、現代の城下町プラットフォームをつくっていきます🏴

“The Samurai’s Business — Revitalizing the Community”
Reporter Murakami spent nearly a year with us — joining mochi-pounding gatherings, observing daily life, and getting to know the people who make this place what it is. We’re truly grateful for the time and care put into this story.
▪️ What this place is about
Guest House Irodori (i-link-u) sits a 5-minute walk from Wadatsuka Station in Kamakura, inside a 94-year-old traditional folk house. But it’s much more than a guesthouse.
Monthly mochi-pounding events bring together locals and travelers of all ages. Kids race up and down the stairs. Elementary schoolers drop by on their way home. Guests from London, Georgia, and across Europe find something here they didn’t expect — a living neighborhood, not just a tourist stop.
Over 1,200–1,300 guests stay with us each year, and our oldest staff member is 93 years old.
▪️ And now — “Bakufu 2.0”
We’re building something bigger: a modern-day castle town rooted in Kamakura.
Accommodation, dining, experience tours, community, consulting — woven together as one platform where locals, travelers, students, and elders all have a role to play.
A place where everyone belongs. That’s what we’re working toward. 🏴

それがし、800年前より鎌倉に生きる武士でござる。⚔️

365日、鎧をまとい、宿を営み、
子どもたちから年配の方まで、
様々な人々と育み合いながら
幕府2.0を目指す日々でござる。

今日はそんな武士の学びの場、
法政大学 連帯社会インスティチュートの卒業式に
立ち会う機会をいただきました。

地域、NPO、労働組合、協同組合…
市民の力が、人々の暮らしと幸せをどう動かすか。
そんな問いを真剣に学び合う、
時代を超えた"連帯の道場"でござる。

それがしも、そろそろ復学を志しておりまする。
この縁に感謝しながら——
ご卒業、まことにおめでとうでございます！！ 🎓⚔️
学び続ける者に、道は開かれるでござる。

I am a samurai who has lived in Kamakura since 800 years ago.

365 days a year, clad in armor, running a guesthouse —
nurturing connections with everyone,
from children to elders,
as I work toward Bakufu 2.0.

Today, I had the honor of attending the graduation ceremony
of Hosei University’s Institute of Solidarity Studies —
one of my own places of learning as a samurai.
Regional communities, NPOs, labor unions, cooperatives…
How can the power of citizens move people’s lives
and well-being forward?
A place where these deep questions are explored together —
a timeless “Dojo of Solidarity.” 🏯
I myself am hoping to return to my studies before long.
With gratitude for this connection —

Congratulations to all graduates!!
The path opens for those who never stop learning.
