カナダからのJさん。
日本は4回目。今回は、自分へのお誕生日プレゼントとして日本を旅されています。

腰に巻いているしましまは、お気に入りの家族のセーター。旅行にはいつも持っていくそうです。
「夫も着るから少し大きくなった気がするけど、大好きなの！」

一人旅でも、家族を身近に感じられる素敵な旅ですね。

J -san from Canada!

This is her fourth trip to Japan, and this time she's celebrating her birthday with a special gift to herself—a journey through Japan.

The striped sweater tied around her waist is a cherished family sweater that she always brings on her travels. "My husband wears it too, so I think it's gotten a little bigger—but I still love it!"

It's a beautiful reminder that even when traveling alone, the love of family can still be close by.

フランスとカナダから来てくれたゲストさんたちと、一緒にそうめんを楽しみました♪

今年初めてのそうめん。そして、金沢の友人からいただいたキュウリとシシトウも大好評！
小さなご縁がつながって、幸せの輪が広がっていくような夜でした。

楽しい夏の思い出のひとつになりました♪

We enjoyed somen noodles together with our guests from France and Canada.

It was our first somen of the year!
The cucumbers and shish*to peppers gifted by a friend in Kanazawa were also a big hit.

It was a beautiful evening where small connections came together and created a circle of happiness.

インドネシアからのゲストさん。
薬学の研究のために来日し、数か月間日本で過ごされました。帰国を前に、最後の思い出づくりとして日本を旅されています。

She came to Japan for pharmaceutical research and spent several months here. Before returning home, she's traveling around Japan to make the most of her final days here.
It was lovely to see her enjoying her time in Japan while capturing beautiful scenery from all over the country.

元マネージャーのまるさんが、ポンギーに帰ってきてくださいました〜
オーストラリアのJさん、金沢の友人たちと一緒に、ごはんを囲んで楽しいひとときでした。

Back for the second time this year!
Our former manager, Maru-san, came back to Pongyi for another visit!

We had a wonderful time sharing a meal with J-san from Australia and our friends from Kanazawa.
It was such a fun and heartwarming evening together.

大阪でゲストハウスを営むおさやさん（ゲストハウス君彩家｜大阪・緑橋の古民家のまちやど）は、カブで全国を巡る日本一周中。
台湾からのゲストさんは京都でワーキングホリデー中。カナダからのゲストさんは、初めてのアジア、そして初めての一人旅。
それぞれ全く違う場所から、違う目的を持って集まった3人。
こんな出会いが自然に生まれ、一緒に笑って過ごせる時間こそ、ゲストハウスの醍醐味だな〜と思います♪

Osaya-san, who runs a guesthouse in Osaka, is traveling all around Japan on her little motorbike, visiting guesthouses along the way.

Our guest from Taiwan is enjoying a working holiday in Kyoto, while our guest from Canada is on her very first trip to Asia—and her very first solo adventure.

Three women from completely different backgrounds, each on their own unique journey.

Moments like these—when people meet naturally, share stories, and laugh together—are what make　guesthouses so special.

友人が、自分の畑で採れたばかりの新鮮な野菜をたくさんお裾分けしてくれました。
トマト、きゅうり、ゴーヤ、ピーマン、ししとう。
夏野菜は色鮮やかで、見ているだけで元気になります♪

Our friend kindly shared some freshly picked vegetables from her garden.
Tomatoes, cucumbers, bitter melon, green peppers, and shish*to peppers.
Summer vegetables are so colorful—they make us smile!

高校を卒業したばかりのドイツ人ゲストさん。

大学が始まるまでの数か月の間、日本とタイをひとりで旅しています。

しっかり自分で考え、旅を楽しむ姿がとても印象的でした。

立派なエンジニアになって、いつかまた帰ってきてくださいね〜
また日本でお会いできる日を楽しみにしています♪

Our guest from Germany has just graduated from high school.

Before starting university, he's taking a few months to travel around Japanand Thailand on his own.

It was inspiring to see how confidently he planned his journey and embraced every adventure.

北國花火2026！

今夜の金沢は絶好の花火日和。

ゲストさんたちは数人連れ立って近くの花火スポットへ。
私は宿に残った他のゲストさんたちと一緒に、ポンギーの前から花火を眺めました。

いつもお世話になっている薬局に少し隠れてしまうのが難点ですが、この眺めもなかなかお気に入りです♪

みんなで日本の夏を感じた、素敵な夜でした。

Hokkoku Fireworks 2026!

It was a perfect evening for fireworks in Kanazawa.

A few of our guests headed to a nearby fireworks viewing spot together, while I stayed at Pongyi and enjoyed the fireworks from in front of the guesthouse with the others.

The view is partly blocked by the pharmacy next door—which we're always grateful for!—but it's still one of our favorite places to watch the fireworks.

It was a wonderful evening, and a beautiful way to experience a Japanese summer together.

「ただいま！」と帰ってきてくださったJさん♪

オーストラリア・アデレードから、今年もポンギーへ。
2012年からほぼ毎年お越しくださり、今回で15回目です！

遠い道のりを越えて、またお会いできたことが本当に嬉しい。同じゲストさんを何度もお迎えするたびに、宿で長く働いていてよかったなーと思います。
