創業130余年市内のアクセス便利。唐津の隠れ家的旅館。

■沿革
創業130余年川添茂兵衛が唐津市木綿町に料亭綿屋を明治９年創業。客室数5、広間1で営業を開始。木綿町では魚屋、蒲鉾屋、置屋料亭を営んだ。現在の建物は明治39年頃の建築と思われる。ちなみに「旧高取家住宅」は明治時代に肥前の炭鉱王と呼ばれた高取伊好の迎賓館兼住宅として明治37年に建設されたもの　　※「旧唐津銀行」は1912年明治45年建築
　当時大名小路に料亭「綿屋」海士町に「川の家」木綿町綿屋支店「綿祖」があり、野口雨情作の綿屋川の家音頭小唄唐津名物またおいでを作詞しております。

Kokedama
I made Kokedama (moss ball) for our guest room.
How to make Kokedama ,at first prepair clay,nets,and storings.
I made a core bound with strings for clay and nets.
After that I covered with moss. In the top of the moss,drill a hole to place some plants grass,plant etc. For the winter time,I sunk the moss in the water once for a couple day. In summer,twice for a day.

Childrens'day is drawing near.
５th of May is childrens'day,a national holiday.
Usually this season is good for watching azalea and wisteria. Our Ryokan has a doll of childrens'day,one is an old paper craft doll.
It looks so old.
In olden days,Japanese people wish for children's health and safety. Then they decorate those dolls.

Weelchair Accessibility
Our Ryokan has a room for people using wheelchairs and corridor. We redesigned our entrance for wheelchair accessibility by creating three small slopes.
When they come to our Ryokan they don't get wet going from car to entrance because of our sloped roof.

・bathroom (they can use with wheelchair)
・rental wheelchar
Room nearby with two public baths.

There are two cherry trees in our back garden. Formerly three more trees were there.
Those withered a few years ago, probably because the soil didn’t suit them.
Behind our Ryokan Choda river flows. There are many cherry trees on the riverside with full bloom.
In this year, cherry trees weren’t watch by many people due to the corona virus.
Prime minister Abe had a statement about emergency for 7 prefectures, so 7 prefectures are:Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Osaka, Hyogo, and Fukuoka.
Karatsu will be influenced because it’s distance is only 50 km from Fukuoka.

Oshibana,Pressed flower craft
Oshibana originated from 16 century Italy. In Japan,it started in the Edo era. Now our gardens are full of camellia japonica.
I made a screen decorated with oshibana. Through the sunlight or Led light Oshibana changed into a beautiful picture.
It was made by using an iron and a microwaveoven.

Sodding work
Sodding work finished yesterday.
I prepaired 350 pieces of lawn (30cmx36cm).
Before sodding work, I had to average out the bed for a week.
When summer comes I can see a fresh green lawn.
Some say 'The grass is always greener on the othersid ',but I think our green is best !.

Withered tree moved.
In front of our entrance,there is a withered tree which stood for about 150 years.
Last year that mascot tree withered. So we dug up the roots.
We want to plant a new one. That root was too big to dig.so we spent 3 days. Withered tree had a small hole in that tree.
The hole was 10 cm wide.
We hope a new tree will grow up healthy.

Repair
For our Ryokan,repairs are needed constantly. We continue many repair for a few years,like the garden many stones need to be moved to another place for convenience to use our parking lot ,repairs to the roof,and the water and warm water system.
Weather of today,very fine but a cold wind. Spring time will take a little more time.

Corona virus
Japanese goverment decided to close all elementary schools,Junior high schools,and High schools from the 2nd March. In Karatsu everybody has been influenced. We can not buy any masks now. Saga prefecture announced about corona virus test's there are 29 cases ,but no crona virus. I hope be calm soon.

Hot spring in our Ryokan.
Our spa was found in 2003. At first,we wanted a well to spread water for the garden,to wash a car,etc. A digging company dug two wells,but the quality was not good. A third well in bamboo trees was dug which we ordered a quality check. The report said the water could be used for a spa too. In honor of the legend of Kaguyahime,we named the spa "Kaguyahime-no-yu". We dug the well one year after my father passed. I want to think the well was my father's revelation to us.

Today's topic is about the stone in our Ryokan's garden.
This photo is the stone foundatin for standing up their
lord's flag.
400 years ago,Toyotomi Hideyosi build Nagoya castle to
overcome Korea. His brought many famous lords,for example,
Tokugawa Ieyasu,Maeda,Date. They plased their position
aroud castle.Their flags show their position.
At that day when someone climled top of Nagoya castle,
They could see the many various flags.
400 years ago!

The famous event of February is Setsubun.
2nd,February is the holiday for the end of winter season.
Setsubun means a divede the each season. In the night,they threw beans with 'ONIWA SOTO,FUKUWA UCHI' shouted,they hope the devil go out from their home,and happiness comes in.
Now there are often held on every home. Attached photo show the remaining beans with the doll festival.
