僧侶たちが厳しい修行に励むお寺は、どこか穏やかで美しい
開梆（ご飯の時間を知らせるために叩く木魚）も必見

A Sōtō Zen temple, a rarity in Kyoto
the monks devote themselves to rigorous training in long time ago, but the temple has a serene and beautiful atmosphere
The kaipo (a wooden fish drum used to signal mealtimes) is also a must-see

ここに来るたびに教えてもらえる
今はお雛さんのお飾りを見せていただけます

If you wish to see traditional Kyoto machiya townhouses, you will find no better place.
Right now, you can see the decorations set up for the March Dolls Festival.
It only opens at weekends, but should you have the opportunity to visit during your stay, consider yourself very fortunate indeed.
