昨日5月15日は葵祭でした🌿

葵祭（正式名称は賀茂祭）は祇園祭、時代祭と並ぶ京都三大祭の１つです。
毎年5月15日に下鴨神社と上賀茂神社で行われるお祭りで、平安時代の貴族の衣装を身に纏った約500人の行列が京都御所から下鴨神社を経由して上賀茂神社へ練り歩きます🚶
今年はお天気も良く青空の下、行われました☀️

Yesterday, May 15, was the Aoi Matsuri 🌿
The Aoi Matsuri (officially called the Kamo Festival) is one of Kyoto’s three major festivals, alongside the Gion Matsuri and the Jidai Matsuri.
Held every year on May 15 at Shimogamo Shrine and Kamigamo Shrine, the festival features a procession of about 500 people dressed in elegant Heian-period court attire, walking from the Kyoto Imperial Palace to Kamigamo Shrine via Shimogamo Shrine 🚶
This year, the festival took place under beautiful blue skies and lovely weather ☀️

新緑の貴船神社🍃

清々しい緑いっぱいの貴船神社へ行って参りました。
青紅葉の緑と灯籠の赤のコントラストが美しく、写真好きにはたまらない風景です📸
貴船神社は賀茂川の源流である貴船川沿いにあるため、川のせせらぎを聞きながら参拝できるのでとても癒されます☺️
夏には川床が楽しめ、美味しい料理を食べながら自然を満喫できます！
また京都市街地より気温が低いため、避暑地としてもおすすめです✨
パワースポットとしても有名なので、京都にお越しの際はぜひ行ってみていただきたいスポットです⛩️

Fresh greenery at Kibune Shrine 🍃
I recently visited Kifune Shrine, surrounded by refreshing lush greenery.
The contrast between the vibrant green maple leaves and the red lanterns was absolutely stunning — a dream scenery for photography lovers 📸
Since the shrine is located along the Kibune River, the source of the Kamo River, you can enjoy the soothing sound of the flowing water while visiting the shrine, which makes the experience incredibly relaxing ☺️
In summer, you can also enjoy “kawadoko” riverside dining, where you can savor delicious food while immersing yourself in nature!

“Kawadoko” is a traditional summer dining style unique to Kyoto, where platforms are built over the river so you can enjoy meals while feeling the cool breeze and listening to the flowing water beneath you.

The area is cooler than central Kyoto, making it a perfect summer getaway as well ✨
Kifune Shrine is also famous as a spiritual power spot, so if you visit Kyoto, it’s definitely a place worth exploring ⛩️

本日、新日吉神宮の神幸祭が行われました！
華やかな衣装を身にまとった行列が七条一帯を巡行されます✨
当館からも巡行を見ることができました☺️

新日吉祭は850年もの歴史がある行事で、毎年5月の第2日曜日に行われます。

Today, the Shinkosai Festival of Shin-Hiyoshi Shrine was held!
A parade of people dressed in gorgeous traditional costumes made its way through the Shichijo area ✨
The procession could also be seen from our hotel ☺️

The Shin-Hiyoshi Festival is a traditional event with more than 850 years of history, and it is held every year on the second Sunday of May.

関西屈指の規模を誇る三室戸寺のつつじ園に行ってまいりました✨
宇治にある三室戸寺はつつじの名所で、「つつじ寺」と呼ばれています！
境内には久留米つつじ園と平戸つつじ園の2つの庭園がございます。

今回訪れた時期が4月25日でしたので、タイミング良く久留米つつじ園と平戸つつじ園の2つのつつじ園を楽しめました💕

※2つの庭園は開園時期が異なるためご注意ください。

赤、白、ピンクの鮮やかな花が庭園に咲き乱れていて、まるでパッチワークのようでした🥰

現在は残念ながら久留米つつじ園は閉園しております。

平戸つつじ園は明日の5月10日までとなっておりますためお早めに！🏃‍♀️

I visited the spectacular azalea gardens at Mimuroto-ji Temple, one of the largest in the Kansai region ✨
Located in Uji, Mimuroto-ji is famous for its beautiful azaleas and is often called the “Azalea Temple”!
Within the temple grounds, there are two different gardens: the Kurume Azalea Garden and the Hirado Azalea Garden.
I visited on April 25, so the timing was perfect to enjoy both gardens at once 💕
Please note that the two gardens have different opening periods.
The vibrant red, white, and pink flowers were blooming all across the gardens, creating a breathtaking patchwork-like landscape 🥰
Unfortunately, the Kurume Azalea Garden is now closed.
The Hirado Azalea Garden will be open only until tomorrow, May 10, so don’t miss it! 🏃‍♀️

砂ずりの藤と呼ばれる藤棚は花房が1メートル以上に及ぶものもあるとのこと！

平等院の藤は例年4月中旬から5月上旬にかけて見頃を迎えます。

写真撮影時期は4月25日でしたが、ちょうど見頃を迎えていました😊

そよそよと風に揺らめき、陽の光に照らされた藤はこの時期だけの絶景です✨

残念ながら現在は見頃は過ぎており、下部に花を残すのみとのことです…

藤の花の時期に京都にお越しの際は、ぜひ訪れてみてください。

Byodoin Phoenix Hall is one of Kyoto’s most famous spots for wisteria.
The scenery of the Noda wisteria—said to be around 280 years old—framed alongside the Phoenix Hall is a popular photo spot 📸✨
The wisteria trellis, known as “Sunazuri no Fuji,” features flower clusters that can grow over one meter in length!
At Byodoin, the wisteria are typically at their best from mid-April to early May.
These photos were taken on April 25, right when the flowers were in full bloom 😊
Gently swaying in the breeze and illuminated by sunlight, the wisteria create a breathtaking view that can only be seen during this season ✨
Unfortunately, the peak viewing period has now passed, and only some blossoms remain at the lower sections…

しだれ桜がゆっくり揺れていて、どこを歩いてもやわらかい空気。
時間が少しだけゆっくり流れているような、そんな場所でした。

昔から愛されてきた理由が、なんとなく分かる気がします。

垂れた桜が低く広がり、
渡るときにふわっとすぐ近くに感じられるような景色。

Stumbled on this while walking through a quiet neighborhood 🌸

Right on a small bridge, there was this soft, cascading cherry blossom—hanging low as you cross, almost brushing past you. No crowd, no signs, just there.

It felt a bit unreal, like something you’re not really meant to find.

御所周辺では枝がふんわりと垂れる桜もとても綺麗に咲いています。

満開の木もあれば、これから咲く木もあって、
