In conjunction with “CURATION⇄FAIR Kyoto,” held from November 6 to 8, ROKU KYOTO and Shozan Resort Kyoto will host an exclusive floral gathering by flower artist Kentaro Sugi.
Beginning at ROKU KYOTO, the experience unfolds along the Kamiya River and through Gyokuan, a teahouse nestled within a private Japanese garden. Witness the fleeting beauty of flowers created for one moment, in one place.
At Minegyokutei, guests may also take part in “Shomo no Hana,” arranging a seasonal branch under Kentaro Sugi’s guidance.

11月6日～8日に開催されるアートフェア「CURATION⇄FAIR Kyoto」との連動プログラムとして、花人・杉謙太郎氏による特別な「花会」を、ROKU KYOTOおよびしょうざんリゾート京都を舞台に開催いたします。

鷹峯の静謐な自然と調和するROKU KYOTOを起点に、紙屋川沿いの小径や、通常非公開の日本庭園に佇む茶室「玉庵」をめぐりながら展開される本プログラム。その時、その場でしか生まれない、次々と生けられていく花々の美しさと儚さに立ち会う、一期一会のひとときをお届けします。

また、通常非公開のしょうざん迎賓館「峰玉亭」では、杉謙太郎氏の手ほどきのもと、ご自身の手で季節の一枝を生ける体験プログラム「所望の花」も同時開催いたします。
京都に受け継がれる花文化の伝統と現代の表現が響き合う、ここにしかない美意識をご体感ください。

The Kitano Festival, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine’s major autumn celebration, begins today, October 1.

Under blue skies, ornate horen, sacred palanquins that carry the spirit of the shrine’s deity during the procession, stand on the shrine’s white sand grounds. Golden roofs contrast with vermilion robes and firmly knotted red ropes. As the bearers check the ropes, a quiet tension marks the festival’s opening.

Horen, hanagasa flower parasols, the Yaotome Chigo procession of young girls, traditional dengaku performances and shishimai lion dances bring the elegance of Japan’s Heian court culture into the present, forming one of Kyoto’s foremost festivals.

Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is approximately 10 minutes by car from ROKU KYOTO. Experience the festival’s colourful scenes up close this autumn in Kyoto.

Festival dates: October 1–5
Shinkosai, the outward procession: October 1
Kankosai, the return procession: October 4

青空の下、白砂の境内に並ぶ絢爛豪華な御鳳輦（ごほうれん）。
金色の屋根に映える朱の装束と、力強く結ばれた紅い綱。
担ぎ手の皆さまが綱を確かめる姿に、祭りの始まりの緊張感が漂っています。

御鳳輦、花傘、八乙女稚児行列、田楽、獅子舞。
雅な平安王朝文化を今に伝える、京都随一の祭礼です。

ROKU KYOTOから北野天満宮までは、車で約10分。

Japan’s enduring tradition of admiring the moon and celebrating its beauty in poetry lives on at Ninna-ji Temple, just ten minutes by car from ROKU KYOTO.

On Saturday, 26 September 2026, the World Heritage-listed temple hosts Kangetsusai (Moon Viewing Festival) for one night only, with an illuminated sea of clouds beneath the autumn moon and, as part of a special package, a concert of goeika (traditional Buddhist hymns) within Kondo Hall, a National Treasure normally closed to the public.

With the temple’s tale of Emperor Uda and the moon as a backdrop, this autumn evening invites you to slow down and discover the history, artistry and enduring traditions of Kyoto.
