If you come to Kyoto, you definitely can't miss the experience of staying in a traditional Kyoto machiya! All of the accommodations at our Hana-Guesthouses are detached machiya with a choice of two types of rooms: Japanese-style and Western-style. Today, we would like to focus on introducing our Japanese-style rooms.

The Japanese-style rooms are designed with traditional Japanese architecture and furniture, including tatami mat flooring, Japanese-style chairs, and low tables, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the beauty of traditional Japanese culture. If you prefer a more modern environment, our Western-style rooms can also meet your needs. Regardless of your preference, all of our rooms are equipped with modern amenities such as air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and private bathrooms, ensuring your comfort and convenience.

Located in the Higashiyama area, this Villa is roughly a 5-minute walk to the Kiyomizu Temple area, a popular tourist spot. The Villa is also conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Kiyomizu Gojo Station. By taxi, it is just a 10-minute ride to Kyoto Station.

Guests are welcomed by a chic black wood exterior and a refined interior featuring a modern Japanese design. Beyond the noren curtain, guests will find a large water planter in a garden bursting with atmosphere, another one of the highlights of this Villa. In addition to the two gardens, the kitchen, living room, and sink have all been consolidated onto the 1st floor. A 1st floor space where everyone will want to gather when not sleeping. The Villa is also conveniently located just an 8-minute walk from Omiya Station on the Hankyu Line and Shijo Omiya on the Randen Line. By taxi, it is just a 10-minute ride to Kyoto Station.

This property is a fully renovated, authentic Kyomachiya with over 100 years of history that was built in the mezzanine-style of construction. This style is unique for having 2nd floor ceilings that are lower towards the front of the property. The property is also unique for windows featuring an ultra-fine lattice pattern. These features provide an enjoyable experience that is unique to Kyomachiya.

Located northwest of Kyoto Station, the Villa lies to the west of Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Villa also offers convenient access as it is located within a 12-minute walk of three train stations: Nijo Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Tozai Line, and Nijo Station and Enmachi Station on the JR Sanyo Line.

The property is an authentic Kyomachiya building in Japan's Taisho Era (early 1900s). While fully renovated the property to provide our guests with optimal accomodations, original construction materials can be found throughout the property, including the lattices, trusses, beams, and columns, and the room interior features a stylish design. This Villa is located in a very convenient area. Three doors down the street is a public bath that is popular with local residents.
