We have prepared iris leaves in the large public bath and in the baths in your room.

The iris bath (Shobu-yu) is a traditional custom,
and its refreshing fragrance is believed to ward off evil and bring good health.

前夜から軒に菖蒲を飾るのが
昔からの習わしです。

菖蒲の香りには
邪気を払う力があるといわれています。

静かな夜、
灯りに照らされた菖蒲が
そっと季節を知らせてくれます。

to place iris leaves under the eaves.
