再過兩天就三月了。
三月是日本的畢業季，一般大家都是穿制服(校服)參加畢業典禮，但有部分小中高大學校可以穿袴參加。袴(HAKAMA)是指下半身像裙子的部分。參加畢業典禮，可以搭配二尺袖(小振袖)或振袖。

A few days later is the week of the Gion Festival, the largest festival in Kyoto. This year's Yamaboko construction and tour will be cancelled due to epidemic situation, but some districts will sell chimaki(rice dumpling) as scheduled.

Do you know that the chimaki at the Gion Festival are different from the rice dumplings Chinese eat at the Dragon Boat Festival?

The chimaki of the Gion Festival is actually an amulet where there is no rice in it. The Kyoto people will hang the chimaki in front of the door, help the family members to alleviate the disaster, and protect the family. In addition to security, different chimaki also have different meanings.

Although you can't buy it this year, when you come to Kyoto next year, remember to bring a "chimaki" to your family as a souvenir!!!

About Yumeyakata

　Yumeyakata provides kimono rental for either adult or children. We also provide hair-styling service. Otherwise, studio shooting and location shooting are also available. Yumeyakata staffs can speak in English, Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and French.
