暑い夏でもお湯に浸かりたい！
暑い日々が続いていますね。夏場はシャワーで済ます方も多いのではないでしょうか？

清水五条にある「新道あやめ庵」のお風呂は五右衛門風呂となっており、包まれた感じがとても落ち着く湯船となっております。
窓からは少しばかりですが、小さな中庭を見ることもできますので、ぜひ旅の疲れを癒してくださいね。

The bath at "Shinmichi Ayamean" in Kiyomizu Gojo is a goemon bath, which gives you a very relaxing feeling of being wrapped in a bathtub.

8月16日は京都五山送り火です！大文字山が有名ですよね。
夜8時ごろに京都の東の山を眺めてみてください。

近年は感染症の影響で、縮小して行われていましたが、今年は前面点火されると発表がありました。(変更の可能性あり)

お盆にあの世から帰ってきたお精霊さん（おしょらいさん）をあの世に送り返す行事です。
20時から30分ほど見られます。

-Kyoto Gozan Bonfire
August 16th is the Kyoto Gozan Bonfire! Daimonji Mountain is famous for it.
Look at the mountains in the east of Kyoto around 8 pm.

In recent years, due to infectious diseases, the festival has been held on a reduced scale, but this year it has been announced that it will be lit in the front. (Subject to change).

This is an event to send back the spirits (oshorai-san) who have returned from the other world during Obon to the afterlife.
It can be seen from 8:00 p.m. for about 30 minutes.

-柳谷観音 楊谷寺(やなぎだにかんのん ようこくじ)-

花手水の発祥のお寺として最近はSNSでよく見かけますよね。
とても美しく、色鮮やかで見事です✨

柳谷観音は、眼病平癒の祈願所として、平安時代より天皇家公家を初めとする眼病に悩む人々に信仰されてきたのだとか。

長岡京の山中に位置してますので、車で行かれるか、最寄駅からタクシーで行かれるのがおすすめです。

-Yanagidani Kannon Yokokuji Temple

As the birthplace of Hana-Temizu, you see this temple often on social networking sites these days.
It is so beautiful, colorful and stunning✨.

Yanagidani Kannon has been worshipped by people suffering from eye diseases, including emperors and court nobles, since the Heian period (794-1185) as a place of prayer for the healing of eye diseases.

It is located in the mountains of Nagaokakyo, so it is recommended to drive there or take a cab from the nearest station.

7月になりましたね。暑い日が続いておりますが、体調など崩されていませんか？
7月の京都といえばなんと言っても祇園祭ですよね！
今年は山鉾巡行と神輿渡御が行われるそうで、とても嬉しく思います。3年振りですね…！
前祭は17日、後祭は24日です。

本日は七夕ですね。今年は晴れて夜空が眺められそうです。

Today is Tanabata. This year it looks like we will have a clear night sky.
Orihime and Hikoboshi seem to be happy too.

The photo shows the lighting up of the Tanabata decorations at Kibune Shrine.
The lighting up is held every year, and this year it will be held until August 15.

京都では「夏越の祓（なごしのはらえ）」が行われる日に食べるお菓子で、6月30日と食べる日が決まっています。
夏の酷暑を乗り切り、無病息災を祈願するお菓子です。
京都の人が「水無月」を食べるようになったのは平安時代とされています。
当時の宮中の貴族は、「夏越の祓」の際に氷を食べて暑気を払う習慣がありました。ですが当時の氷は大変貴重で、庶民が食べられるものではありませんでした。そこで麦の粉を練って蒸したういろうを三角形に切り、氷に似せたお菓子を作って食べていたそうです。

今では京都の人には欠かせない季節の行事のお菓子となりました。

今年ももう半年を過ぎたのかと思うと、早すぎないか？と思う今日この頃です。
残りの半年もより良く過ごせますことをお祈りしております。

Minatsuki
In Kyoto, this sweet is eaten on the day of "Nagoshi-no-harae" (purification ceremony in summer), which is fixed on June 30.
It is a confectionery to pray for good health and good fortune through the intense summer heat.
It is believed that it was during the Heian period (794-1185) that people in Kyoto began to eat "Minatsuki".
At that time, nobles of the court had a custom to eat ice to drive away the heat during "Nagoshi-no-harae" (summer purification). However, ice at that time was very precious and not available for common people to eat. So, they made a sweet that resembled ice by kneading barley flour and steaming it, cutting it into triangles, and eating it.

Nowadays, it has become an indispensable seasonal sweets for people in Kyoto.

It is too early to think that another half year has already passed this year, isn't it? I think it is too soon.

「大祓式」ー上賀茂神社ー
大祓式は6月と12月の年2回行われる、無病息災を願う神事です。
半年間で知らず知らずに身についた疫病等による災いを祓い清めて、来る半年を無病息災に過ごせることを祈ります。

6月30日には夏越大祓が行われます。

ー芽の輪くぐりー
参道には「茅の輪」が設置され、茅の輪をくぐることによって半年間の罪穢を祓い、無病息災に過ごすことができるとされています。
上賀茂神社ではくぐる時は「みな月のなごしの祓へするひとは ちとせのいのち のぶといふなり」と心の中で唱えながらくぐる習わしとなっています。

ー人形流しー
茅の輪くぐりの他には「人形流し」もあります。
人形(ひとがた)と呼ばれる、人の形をした紙で、罪・穢れを遷してお祓いをうけるのです。
人形に名前・年齢を書き、体を撫でて息を吹きかけます。
そして6月30日の夕刻に、神職が人形を「ならの小川」に流し、祓い清めるのです。

The dolls are made of paper in the shape of a human being, and are used to purify the body of the deceased by shifting sins and impurities.
The person writes his or her name and age on the doll, strokes the doll's body, and blows on it.
Then, on the evening of June 30, a priest floats the doll down the "Narano Stream" to purify it.

These taiyakis are from Amairo Coffee and Taiyaki in Shijo, Kyoto!

It is a cafe tucked away in an alley.

6月になりました。
6月といえば梅雨、衣替え、夏至、など本格的に夏が来るイメージがありますよね。
紫陽花も美しく咲き誇る時期です。中でも京都で有名なあじさい寺といえば「三室戸寺」ですよね。約1万株もの紫陽花が咲いており、今年も6月1日〜7月10日までの間見ることができるそうです。
三室戸寺は紫陽花以外にもツツジも美しく見応えあるお寺ですよ。

京都府立植物園では、現在バラが見頃を迎えています。
京都府立植物園は大正13年に開園した日本で最初の公立植物園で、とても歴史ある植物園です。

種類豊富なバラが咲き乱れており、とても美しいですね。
6月頭くらいまでは見られるそうなので、週末は行ってみてはいかがでしょうか？
