Gion Matsuri season! Every year I enjoy watching them building the festival floats, but this year, me and helper Adam got to join the “Hikizome (trial pull)” of Niwatori Hoko, thanks to Atsushi san 🥹 It was such a great experience and overwhelming, I’ll never ever forget it 😭✨

週末に京都で野外フェス「京都大作戦」が開催されました🎼毎年グループでお泊まりいただく常連さんともお話ししてたんですが「ところでみなさんは元々どんなお知り合いなんですか？」と伺ったところ

『元々実は京都大作戦のとき、同じ宿でたまたま泊まってて知り合ったんです。そこから花宿さんが近いので、みんなで今はこっちに泊まらせてもらって３年目です』と🥹🥹🥹

話している横でも、グループ内の方が韓国からのお客さんとお話しされてて『僕はELLEGARDENが好きで京都大作戦に来ています！熊本のライブも行きました』『え？俺も行ってたよそれ？！』と😱

今年の滞在で知り合った方ともまた花宿にて繋がられたようで、皆さんの合言葉が『じゃあまた来年ここで！』には本当に感動しました🫶🫶🫶私も皆さんのフレンドリーさと礼儀正しさ、音楽へのパッションとノリの良さが大好きです💓

いつもご利用いただきありがとうございます😊来年お考えの方、京都花宿は京都駅からも近く、参戦組とも知り合えてぜひオススメです！www 私も実は高校生からフェス大好きで、SETSTOCK、Monster Bash、Wild bunch、Star Festival、Fuji Rock、サマソニ、音博、海外でもLaneway festivalなどなど参戦してきました！Tシャツもタオルもいっぱい持ってます！！www（メロコア、パンクロック世代ですよ！！写真は幕張のRockin on sonic2025と懐かしい2007年のモンバスです😂）

Still can’t believe it’s already June! Back in the end of May, we had a farewell / welcome Takoyaki party at the hostel for Tatsu, Shea, Young and Shino 🫶
Let me tell you about Tatsu specifically - some of you have met him, talked to him, hung out with him while you were in Kyoto… YES! He’s probably one of the friendliest, the most genuine, compassionate and trustworthy person 🥹 He worked really hard at Hana Hostel to welcome you, make you feel at home and help you out! Also he was always a great bond between us team members - always there for us and trying to help everyone! We are so happy to have worked with you, got to know you, and we are excited to your next chapter in 🇮🇩 😊 Arigatoooooooo 🙇

Today I had a delivery at Hana Hostel - sweets from Cyprus 🫶 One of our guests who had stayed with us back in new year’s time 2025 / 2026 asked his friend to deliver them to Hana Hostel 🥹🎁
I remember good conversations we had here, and he even came back to Hana to join our Takoyaki party when he already left Kyoto and was staying in Osaka 🤣✨
Thank you so so so much! Some of our reception staff haven’t tried those sweets before so reactions were so funny! We gladly have it with very bitter green tea or even matcha 🍵 We miss you!

Last week on my way home, I stopped by town of Wake in Okayama to see wisteria garden! It was just so impressive that they have 100 different kinds of wisteria flowers from (almost) all around Japan, and they are so beautiful and smell so dreamy 🫶🌸🌸 I actually got to meet up with Rebekka who worked with us and now is staying / working in Okayama 🥹
There are some places in Kyoto where you can see wisteria flowers too!

Today I visited Nagaoka Tenmangu shrine to see the Azalea flowers 🌺 The combination of fresh green and vivid red / pink / white was so beautiful! See? Spring is not just Sakura! 🥹 Still not touristic, hidden gem of Kyoto!

I walked around central Kyoto area for Sakura viewing 🌸 It’s very busy everywhere but you can always find quiet spot if you just keep walking and wandering around 🫶 Finally sunny day after a few days of rain!
Enjoy spring time 😊
