The courtyard on the first floor of RAKURO Kyoto features handcrafted Kyoto-style roof tiles created by Mr. Masahisa Asada. The statue of Shoki, which also stands in the courtyard, is also the work of Mr. Asada. In Kyoto, Shoki is often placed atop Kyoto townhouse roofs to ward off evil spirits, avert misfortune, and ensure academic success. There are three Shoki statues located throughout the property, including the courtyard.
Please be sure to look for them as you explore the premises, when you stay at RAKURO Kyoto.

RAKURO 京都1Fの中庭には、浅田晶久氏による手作りの京瓦が配しています。また、同じく中庭に鎮座する像・鍾馗（しょうき）さんも浅田氏によるものです。鍾馗さんは、京都では、家の屋根の上に置かれている厄除け・魔除けの守護神です。当館には、中庭含め3か所鍾馗さんが鎮座しています。RAKURO 京都へご宿泊の際はぜひ館内を探してみてください。

RAKURO Kyoto features a guest lounge exclusively for our guests on the first floor. Our staff distills plants daily that are sourced from the Keihoku region in northern Kyoto. In addition to the Kuromoji we have been using, we have also begun distilling cedar. We offer a different botanical scent each day. The scent of these plants fills the entire guest lounge. We also offer a limited quantity of floral water (aromatic distilled water) extracted from the plants through distillation. This can be used as a room spray in your room.

RAKURO 京都1Fには、ご宿泊者専用のゲストラウンジがございます。ラウンジ内のボタニカルラボでは、京都市北西部の京北地域から仕入れている植物を、スタッフが毎日蒸留しています。これまで使用してきたクロモジに加え、スギの蒸留も開始しいたしました。日替わりで植物の香りをお届けするとともに、蒸留器によって植物から精製されたフローラルウォーター（芳香蒸留水）を、客室のルームスプレー等としてお使いいただけるよう数量限定でご用意しております。

It comfortably accommodates up to two guests. You can relax in a space that feels like being in a Japanese home.

You can browse a selection of books curated by , a bookstore located in Kawaramachi Marutamachi. The owner, who envisions new model for bookstores, has selected books for RAKURO Kyoto on themes such as nature, plants, fermentation, and community development.
Please take some time to read in the guest lounge, where relaxing music plays in the background, during your stay.

"Moderate Large with Japanese-style” is Japanese-Western-style room featuring a queen-size bed and a low-floor tatami area with a low table and cushions. It comfortably accommodates up to two guests, and by laying out two more futons on the tatami area, it can accommodate up to four guests, making it ideal for families or groups. Please take some time at the end of the day to relax in your room and reflect on your travel memories.

Moderate Large with Japanese-styleのお部屋は、クイーンサイズのベッドと畳の小上がりに座卓セットがある和洋室です。2名様まではもちろん、小上がりに布団を敷いて最大4名様でご宿泊いただけます。1日の終わりにお部屋でゆっくりと旅の思い出を振り返ってみてはいかがでしょうか。

We have updated our interview article with Hiroshi Yoshimoto, who selects the music played in RAKURO. He shared his criteria and process for selecting music, as well as his recommendations for how to enjoy your stay at RAKURO.

Mr. Yoshimoto is currently responsible for music curation at all eight THE SHARE HOTELS properties.
