It was built using traditional methods. Except for the historic Kyomachiya, the exterior is a Kyomachiya, but the interior has been renovated in a modern style, so it is very beautiful but does not have the original quality of a Kyomachiya. Katsura Club has many parts that remain the same as they were in the past, and repairs are only minor, so it looks very dirty, but the rooms have been preserve

d as they were at the time. It has also been certified as a historic Kyomachiya by Kyoto City, so it can only be open 180 days a year in order to preserve the old house. Katsura Club is located in an old residential area, so unlike a typical guesthouse, you may have some interaction with the neighbors. However, since it is a residential area, it is very quiet at night, so please speak in a low voice after 9pm. Please speak even quieter outdoors. ! When I show you the room later, I will explain that instead of sleeping on two futons, a mattress and a cover, like in hotels and inns, the way Kyoto residents who have lived here for a long time sleep on futons is a little different from hotels and inns, so I will explain that later. 桂倶楽部は築100年の歴史的京町家です。昔の建て方で作っています。
歴史的京町家以外は外観は京町家ですが内装は現代風にリノベーションしているので非常に綺麗ですが京町家本来の良さがありません。
桂倶楽部は、昔のままの部分が多いので修理も補修程度なので非常に見た目は汚いですが、当時の部屋の様子を残しています。
京都市から歴史的な京町家の認定も受けているので、古い家の保存の為に年間１８０日しか営業出来ません。

桂倶楽部は古くからの住宅専用地域内に在るため一般的なゲストハウスと違い近所との交流も有るかもです。
ただし住宅専用地域なので夜は非常に静かです、夜9時以降は小さな声で話してください。
屋外ではより一層静かに話してください。！

後ほど部屋を案内するときに、ホテルや旅館の様な、敷布団と上掛け布団の2枚で寝るのではなく、昔からの昔から居住している京都市民の使う布団の入り方はホテルや旅館と少し入り方が違うので、後ほど説明します。
