☀️🌻🥵"Nagoshi no Harae" is a Shinto ritual held on June 30th, marking the halfway point of the year, to purify oneself of sins and impurities accumulated over the past six months and to pray for good health and safety for the remaining half of the year.🙏⛩️

Participants pass through a large "Chinowa" (a ring made of cogon grass) set up between the main sanctuary and the worship hall while reciting a "waka" poem: "It is said that those who pass through the "chinowa" at 🎶"Towano-mori (Nagoshi no Harae suru hitowa chitose no inochi nobu to iunari"(for the Nagoshi no Harae ritual will extend their lives by a thousand years."🎼〽️

The "Chino-wa Kuguri"(Passing through the "chinowa") is a purification ritual performed during the "Nagoshi no Harae" (summer purification ceremony) in which people pass through a ring made of reeds to cleanse themselves of sins and impurities.

🌾The "Chinowa" is a ring, taller than a person, woven from "Chigaya"(cogon grass), a plant belonging to the grass family. Its origins are said to lie in the mythology of the deity Susanoo-no-Mikoto.

My stay at Kamuroan was initially scheduled for 5 days, but it was extended by 2 nights, making it a seven-day stay.🙏

😅Naturally, they were probably getting tired of the same breakfast every day, so the morning before their sixth day, I asked them what they wanted to eat.
🧐They requested sukiyaki for breakfast, 😳so we served them sukiyaki, which is usually more suited to lunch or dinner, for breakfast.😊😋

Normally, we don't serve “sukiyaki” for breakfast at Kamuroan, so this is a special occasion and all of the following conditions must be met.
1) It must be during the off-season. There must be no other guests staying during their stay. Therefore, advance reservations are not possible.
2) There must be two or more people.
3) I (okami-san) must be in good physical and mental condition.

We are pleased that visitors from France generally try their best to learn Japanese. They stayed at Kamuroan for five days, and on the morning of their last day, they experienced making “maki sushi.”
Normally, Kamuroan does not accept advance reservations for the “maki sushi” experience.
1) It must be during the off-season. There must be no other guests staying during their stay. Therefore, advance reservations are not possible.
2) There must be two or more people.
3) I (the proprietress) must be in good physical and mental condition.
What is “Makizushi”❓🧐
🇯🇵Makizushi is a traditional Japanese dish and a type of sushi, made by rolling vinegared rice and fillings in a cylindrical shape using dried “nori” (seaweed).

You can use any ingredients you like for your “maki sushi”(sushi rolls).
Wrap ingredients from your country in dried “nori”(seaweed) and have a “maki sushi” party❗️🎉🥂🍻🍶🥳

🍱🍙At Kamuroan, if guests who have booked a breakfast-included accommodation plan are going sightseeing early in the morning or checking out early to head to their next accommodation, we will prepare a “obento”(packed lunch) for them to eat on their way to their next destination instead of breakfast at Kamuroan.😋
At Kamuroan, if guests who have booked a breakfast-included accommodation plan are going sightseeing early in the morning or checking out early to head to their next accommodation, we will prepare a “obento”(packed lunch) for them to eat on their way to their next destination instead of breakfast at Kamuroan.
However, because the contents of the “obento”(packed lunch) will differ from breakfast to prevent spoilage, please request the change to a packed lunch at least two days in advance.
It is not possible to change from breakfast at Kamuroan to a “obento”(packed lunch) on the day before or on the day of your reservation. 🙏
Please understand that Kamuroan's breakfast is not home-style cooking that can be prepared quickly by simply taking ingredients out of the refrigerator or freezer.
