日本三大車窓・姨捨
雪の日だけの、特別な景色
松本と長野を結ぶ JR篠ノ井線。
その途中にある姨捨駅周辺は、
「日本三大車窓」のひとつとして知られています。
先日、その姨捨付近の車窓から、
めったに出会うことのできない雪景色を眺めることができました。
手前に広がるのは、
月が水田一枚一枚に映り込むことで知られる
「田毎の月」の棚田。
白く雪化粧をした棚田は、
冬ならではの静けさと美しさを湛えていました。
さらに視線を奥へ向けると、
一面に広がる善光寺平。
雪に包まれた長野市街地の風景は、
思わず言葉を失うほどの美しさです。
列車の窓から眺める風景は、
まさに“動く特等席”。
同じ景色は、二度とありません。

One of Japan’s Three Most Beautiful Train Views
A rare winter scene at Obasute
The JR Shinonoi Line connects Matsumoto and Nagano.
Along the way lies the area around Obasute Station,
famous as one of Japan’s Three Most Beautiful Train Views.
Recently, we were fortunate to witness a rare snowy landscape
from the train window near Obasute.
In the foreground spread the terraced rice fields known as
Tagoto no Tsuki,
where the moon reflects in each paddy during other seasons.
Covered in snow, the terraces revealed
a completely different, serene winter expression.
Looking further beyond, the Zenkoji Plain unfolds,
with the city of Nagano quietly wrapped in white.
The view was simply breathtaking.
A train window is a moving front-row seat.
No two moments are ever the same.
That is what makes such encounters so special.
A fleeting gift from a Shinshu winter.
