伊勢神宮の神様を祀る、五穀豊穣を願う歴史あるお祭りです。

💡 なぜ「だらだら」なの？
期間がなんと【11日間】も続くから！
江戸時代、大流行した「伊勢参り」に行けない人々が、近場でご利益を得ようと芝大神宮（当時は芝神明）に殺到。
参拝期間をどんどん延長した結果、日本一長いお祭りになりました。

🫚 別名は「生姜（しょうが）祭り」
創建当時、周辺が一面の生姜畑だったことが由来。
生姜は「病災を除き、長寿を願う縁起物」として今でも親しまれています。

🍀衣類が増える？良縁も？
名物の「千木筥（ちぎばこ）」は、藤のつるで編まれた東京の郷土玩具。
「千木（ちぎ）」が「千着（せんちゃく）」に通じることから、タンスに入れると衣装が増える＆良縁に恵まれると、特に女性に大人気です。

Discover One of Tokyo’s Longest Festivals 🍂✨

The Dara Dara Festival at Shiba Daijingu is a beloved autumn celebration filled with history, local traditions, and a touch of Edo charm. The festival lasts for 11 days, making it famously long!

During the Edo period, Ise pilgrimages became incredibly popular. For people who couldn’t travel all the way to Ise, Shiba Daijingu offered a chance to pray closer to home. Over time, the festival grew longer and longer, earning its playful name.

🫚 The area around the shrine was once known for its ginger fields, which is why the festival is also called the Ginger Festival.

Ginger was traditionally regarded as a lucky symbol for good health and longevity.

Keep an eye out for the Chigibako, a charming traditional Tokyo craft made from woven wisteria vines.

Its name is associated with the idea of having “many clothes,” and it has also been considered a charm for finding good fortune in love. 💕
