明日、10月9日は世界郵便デーというのはご存知でしたか？
郵便に関する国際機関である万国郵便連合が1969年に制定されました。
世界がひとつの郵便地域とすることを目的に発足した万国郵便連合。世界中に切手を貼って手紙が送れるのは、このおかげなんですね。
また、この日を含めた10月6日から12日までを、国際文通週間に制定されているそうです。
デジタル時代で手紙を書いて切手を貼り、投函するというのはなかなか機会がない現代、たまには相手を思いながら文字を書くというのも、粋ですよね。

秋といって思い浮かぶものの中に、お月見があるのではないでしょうか？
中秋の名月、または旧暦の8月15日に当たることから十五夜とも呼ばれるそうです。
季節が変わり湿気も少なくなり、空気も澄んでくるこの時期の月が一番きれいとされ、その美しい月を眺めて楽しむのが古くからの習わしです。
また、秋の収穫時期にも当たることから、収穫を喜び、感謝する祭りとして広く知られるようになったそうです。
今年の中秋の名月は9月21日。今年は満月と重なるため、天気が良ければ真ん丸のお月様が見られます。
今日の夜は、ぜひ空を見上げてみませんか？

Have you heard of Otsukimi? It literally means "moon-viewing". Traditionally it was a way of expressing gratitude for a good harvest and hopes for similar bounty in the future.
The celebration of the full moon typically takes place on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar; and this year it falls on 21 September. Please don't forget to look up the sky and enjoy the beautiful full moon today!

今日8月25日はインスタントラーメンの記念日だそうです。
インスタントラーメンは日本が発祥というのはご存知かもしれません。
その最初の商品が発売されたのが今日8月25日なんだそうです。
今では世界中でインスタント麺が販売され、当たり前のようになっていますが、もともとは日本で誕生したなんて、なんだかちょっと嬉しいですよね。
そのインスタントラーメンのテーマパーク「カップヌードルミュージアム」横浜にあります。
日本人なら知らない人はいないんじゃないかと思う日清のカップヌードル。
ぜひ一度行ってみたいスポットですね！

He then created the world-famous "CUP NOODLES", transforming a Japanese local food into a global one.
