❶ Garden, entrance, bus stop–style pergola, porch, vegetable patch

Following our previous session, I once again asked the local photographer couple to capture the garden—this time in its spring setting.

Right now, the Lady Banks’ rose and wisteria are in beautiful bloom. Soon, the Japanese snowbell, hydrangea, and gardenia will begin to flower, and the Juneberry will start to bear fruit.

It’s my favorite time of the year.

I hope our guests can enjoy a peaceful and memorable time in the garden.

The kotatsu in the living room is a sunken style. In the past, this room was where family and relatives would gather to spend New Year’s holidays and Obon together.

Tarou’s House
❷ Staircase, 2nd Floor Office, 2nd Floor Theater

In June 2019, a family from Finland stayed here for a month. That experience became the starting point for gradually enhancing the facilities and amenities so that long-term guests can live comfortably and settle in with ease.

The house is conveniently located near the station, making daily shopping and dining simple, yet the neighborhood remains quiet. A short bike ride takes you to open rice fields, mountain scenery, and some beaches.

It’s well suited for staycations and workation stays.

❶ Engawa veranda / Japanese-style room / Master bedroom

I recently had a local professional photographer couple reshoot the photos for Tarou’s House for my Airbnb listing. The soft winter afternoon light really brings out the nostalgic character of the house, and the results look excellent.

I’m planning another photo session when the Lady Banks’ rose in the garden comes into bloom, and I’ll update the garden shots as well.
