A week of culture, exploring, adventures and laughter in our back yard. From culinary delights, 🍣🍜 🐌, 🥴 to entering the path of enlightenment in the dark passage of Zenkoji Temple 🏯, perfect timing for our magnificent 4,000 cherry blossoms 🌸 illuminated by 3,000 lanterns at Takada Castle, Monkey shenanigans and hikes to waterfalls. I think we could nearly call ourselves tour guides!!! 🎌 Thankyou for coming Frank Wright, Wikum Wijeratne, Shelle Hepburn, Denise Dodd, Lorraine Cross, and Sue Bousie we had a fabulous time showing you around our mountain home. 🏔️❄️☀️

2026 marks our 9th season in Akakura, and what an unforgettable journey it’s been! We created cherished memories, shared plenty of laughter, and navigated challenges together. Celebrating our first Christmas with all of our family at Refre was particularly special. 🙏🏽💜🦥
Oh and an engagement how wonderful to be included in a forever memory 💍❤️
Mid-season, we took a quick trip to Europe, and were so grateful to our amazing staff and friends for stepping in while we cheered on Briony at the World Championships in Andorra. What an incredible experience! Thankyou ❤️
Once again, the snow gods blessed us with the perfect amount of snow at the best possible time. Those that know, know!! ❄️❄️☃️
To our wonderfull returning guest - now friends and family, you show up year after year, your unwavering support and encouragement inspire us to keep improving. For all those that joined us for the first time a heartfelt thank you for your kind reviews and for being part of our journey. We can’t wait for more adventures together next season! Thankyou also to those that make our day to day life easier, the road clearers who have an enormous job, our laundry ninjas, our suppliers and our community thankyou for everything. Love your work!!
The season wasn’t without sadness as we said farewell to close friends and mountain lovers that left us contemplating lives taken too soon. You are forever part of us, we will reflect on our friendships and memories and we will celebrate you and keep your spirit alive on this journey called life . 💜

And to my better half, my rock, the dad jokes aside, it’s been a tough one but here we are shaking off the dust and getting ready for golf.

What an incredible journey it has been! As a family, we couldn’t be prouder of our girl, . We’ve witnessed the dedication, sacrifices, and discipline needed to chase a dream and strive for excellence.
Placing 5th in the world at the inaugural World Freeride Championships is a remarkable achievement, especially as a member of the Australian team competing alongside the best riders from 18 countries. Congratulations to , , and ! You have made us and Australia proud.

We are so grateful to have been there to support you and witness your amazing accomplishments. With fabulous snow, breathtaking mountains, gracious hosts, and an awesome vibe, this experience has created unforgettable memories. Thankyou also to our awesome staff who made it possiable for us to come to Andorra you guys are the best!! 🙌🏼💪🏼🇦🇺🦘🌏🥳🥳💜🦥

What an epic ride it’s been! Two podium finishes 🥉🥉for our girl in a world class competition where all the girls were capable of taking the honours. Congratulations what a season you have had we will be cheering you on next year in the FRW Pro and to all the girls you certainly put on a fantastic show of bravery and extreme snowboarding. And to our girl we couldn’t more proud of you! 6th overall, for someone that has no coach, you train yourself, your commitment to a sport and your determination to succeed is bloody awesome. What an experience even if it does stress me out!! 🫣 That’s a wrap untill next year!! “Go gettem”💪🏼
