先日オランダ坂を散歩していたら「12A」が、改修のために一度取り壊されていました。
　2017年頃、地元の若者たちが自らの手でDIYし、息を吹き込んだこの場所。私はこのシェアハウスに住みながら民泊の運営をさせていただきました。それは長崎で宿を始めるきっかけになった、原点とも言える大切な場所です。

歴史的建造物が次世代へ向けて、昔のような美しい洋館へと復元されるのは本当に喜ばしいことです。
それでも、当時の姿が消えていくのを目にすると、「本当にあったことなのかな、夢だったのかな…」なんて、少し寂しさが込み上げてきたりもします。

あの場所を見つけて「12A」を立ち上げてくれた方々、Almas Guest Houseの前身とも言えるあの宿に泊まってくださったゲストの皆さま、そして関わってくれたすべての方々へ。
たくさんの大切な思い出を、本当にありがとうございます。　

While walking around Oranda-zaka the other day, I saw that "12A" was taken down for a major renovation.
Around 2017, local youth breathed new life into this place through their own DIY efforts. I once lived in this sharehouse and helped run the guesthouse. It is a deeply meaningful place for me—the ultimate starting point for my journey of running an accommodation in Nagasaki.
It is beautiful to see a historic building being restored to its former glory as a stunning Western-style house for the next generation. Still, seeing it gone brings a touch of loneliness, making me feel like, "Was it all a dream?"
To those who found the place and started "12A," to all the guests who stayed at the predecessor of Almas Guest House, and to everyone involved: thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful memories. 🙏　　　Takako S

7年前アルマスをオープンした頃に妄想していた出島の風景をある方に描いて頂いたイラストです！

日本中、世界中から年齢も国籍も問わずここに集まるイメージ❣️ 今も世界ではいろいろな事が起こっていますが、こういう落ち着いた場所でゲストをお迎え出来る事は本当に恵まれていると思います。　

This illustration shows the Dejima scenery I imagined when I first opened Almas seven years ago.
An artist kindly turned that little dream into this beautiful drawing.

I imagined people from all over Japan and around the world gathering here — no matter their age or nationality.

Even though many things are happening in the world today, I feel very grateful that we can welcome guests to this small, peaceful place.

長崎ランタンフェスティバルがいよいよ今週末、2月6日(金)から始まります🏮
メイン会場の湊公園もここアルマスゲストハウスから歩いて5分と近く、会場に向かうまでにも銅座川にかかるピンクのランタンや中華街が楽しめます。週末は冷える予想ですので暖かくしてお出かけください。ご宿泊もお気軽にお越しください😊

The Nagasaki Lantern Festival will finally start this weekend, February 6 (Friday)🏮
Minato Park, the main venue, is also a 5-minute walk from Almas Guest House, and you can enjoy the pink lanterns over the Doza River and Chinatown before heading to the venue. It is expected to be cold on the weekend, so please keep warm when you go out. Please feel free to come and stay at our guesthouse 😊
