Housed in a former monastery, Hotel Indigo Nagasaki Glover Street has been thoughtfully reimagined for a new chapter.
Inspired by this heritage, our afternoon tea from June to September features herbs and spices rooted in European monastic traditions.
In monastic life, herbs were cultivated to heal and gently enrich daily living, while spices were also treasured and used in both food and remedies.

長崎県産水イカのスモークや、“じゃがたらいも”を使った一皿、郷土料理「ヒカド」を現代的にアレンジした魚料理など、和・華・蘭文化が響き合う全6品をご用意しました。
締めには、長崎ならではの“〆の文化”を感じるおにぎりを、白味噌漬けのスズキとともにあご出汁茶漬けで。
デザートには、長崎発祥ともいわれるミルクセーキを、やさしい余韻を残す一皿に仕立てました。

The six-course menu features smoked Nagasaki squid, a dish inspired by “Jagatara potatoes,” and a contemporary interpretation of the local specialty “Hikado.”
To finish, rice balls inspired by Nagasaki’s “shime” culture are served as ago-dashi ochazuke with white miso-marinated sea bass, followed by a reinterpretation of Nagasaki’s iconic milkshake dessert.

長崎市の花として、5月下旬頃から6月にかけて街を彩る紫陽花。
長崎ゆかりの医師・シーボルトが、その美しさを世界へ紹介したことでも知られており、愛する妻お滝さんの名にちなみ「おたくさ」と名付けたことから、長崎では今も親しみを込めて「おたくさ」が受け継がれています。
そんな長崎を象徴する花として、当ホテル本館のエレベーターにも、紫陽花をモチーフとした意匠をあしらっています。
長崎の街歩きとともに、初夏ならではの風景をお愉しみください。

Hydrangeas, the official flower of Nagasaki City, color the streets from late May through June.
Closely associated with Nagasaki, physician Philipp Franz von Siebold introduced their beauty to the world. Named “Otakusa” after his beloved wife, Otaki-san, hydrangeas are still affectionately referred to by this name in Nagasaki today.
As a symbol of Nagasaki, hydrangea-inspired motifs can also be found in the elevator design of our Main Building.
