女性ドミトリーからは、こんな風に中庭が見えます。
ちょうど今日、1ヶ月間滞在してくれたゲストさんがチェックアウトしていきました。
たまに長期で泊まってくれるお客さんがいるのですが、すっかり仲良くなった頃にはもうお別れの日。
毎度のことですが、寂しさと切なさが入り混じります。
ゲストハウスならではの、一期一会の出会いと別れをしみじみと感じる一日です。
ちなみに神奈寐では、こうした長期でのご滞在も大歓迎。

This is the view of the inner garden from the women’s dormitory.
Just today, a guest who stayed with us for a whole month checked out.
We occasionally have long-term guests, and right when we feel like we've become close friends, it's already time for them to leave.
It happens every time, but it always brings a bittersweet wave of sadness.
Days like this really make me appreciate the unique, once-in-a-lifetime encounters and farewells that come with running a guesthouse.

奈良では久しぶりのまとまった雨。
神奈寐の中庭も、今日はいつもと違う表情を見せてくれています。
軒先から落ちる雨水がまるで滝のよう。
雨音を聞きながら、濡れた中庭を眺める時間は、なんだか心が落ち着きます。
晴れの日の奈良もいいけれど、雨の日の古民家で過ごすのも、また格別な風情があります。
こんな日は、温かいお茶でも飲みながら、のんびりと過ごしたいですね🍵

It’s been quite a while since we had a good rain here in Nara.
The inner garden at KAMUNABI is showing a different side of itself today. The rainwater cascading from the eaves looks almost like a waterfall. Listening to the sound of the rain while gazing at the wet garden is so calming.
Sunny days in Nara are great, but there’s something truly special and atmospheric about spending a rainy day in a traditional old house. On days like this, I just want to relax with a hot cup of tea. 🍵

若草山の山頂からのこの眺め。
遮るものが何もない大パノラマで、奈良の街が一望できるお気に入りの場所です。
ちなみに神奈寐からだと、ならまちの街並みを抜けて麓の入山ゲートまで歩いて約25〜30分、そこから山頂まで約35〜40分。
トータルで歩くと1時間弱の、ちょっとしたお散歩＆ハイキングコースです。
少し汗をかいたあとに、この山頂の風に吹かれるのが最高に気持ちいい。
歩いて行ける距離にこんな大自然があるのも、奈良の大きな魅力ですね。

With nothing in the way, you can see the entire city of Nara spread out before you.
From KAMUNABI, it's about a 25-30 minute walk through the Naramachi area to the base gate, and then another 35-40 minutes up to the peak.
All in all, it’s about a one-hour walking and light hiking course.
Catching the breeze at the top after working up a little sweat feels amazing.
Having such magnificent nature within walking distance is one of the best things about staying in Nara.

日が暮れていくと、一日の終わりだなあと静かに実感する時間です。
旅の帰り道や夜の散歩の目印に、この灯りが見えてくると少しホッとしますね。

The quiet evening street and the warm glow of our lantern at KAMUNABI. 🏮
As the sun sets, you can really feel the day winding down.
It’s always nice to spot this glowing light as a landmark when returning from an evening walk or a day out.

気を取り直して、今日はこの写真をお届けします。
神奈寐の中庭。
これまでも何度かご紹介してきましたが、今回はちょっと違う角度から。
手前にビー玉を置いて覗いてみたら、いつもの景色が不思議な世界に切り取られました🌏✨
青々とした緑の中に佇む石灯籠。
その風景がビー玉の中にギュッと閉じ込められて、まるで小さな宇宙のようです。
いつもの場所も、視点を変えるだけで新しい発見があるものですね。
今日も穏やかな時間が流れている神奈寐の中庭です。

Getting back on track, here’s today’s shot.
Our inner garden at KAMUNABI.
I’ve shared pictures of it a few times already, but this time I tried a different perspective.
Looking through a marble placed in the foreground transforms the usual scenery into a mysterious little world. 🌏✨
The stone lantern nestled within the lush greenery is captured inside the marble, making it look like a tiny universe.
It just goes to show that changing your perspective can reveal new discoveries, even in familiar places.
A peaceful atmosphere is filling the garden at KAMUNABI today, too.

Little treasures gathered from all over the world, resting right here at our reception. 🌍✨
From cute miniature wooden clogs from the Netherlands and a tiny Eiffel Tower from France, to a classic Japanese Buddha statue, a Daruma doll, and a lovely sketch left by a guest.
Travelers from all walks of life cross borders to visit this place, leaving behind memories and footprints.
Looking at this scenery, which is so unique to a guesthouse, always warms my heart. ☺️

どこか懐かしい日本の夏の風景です。
今夜も神奈寐の周辺は、のんびりとした心地よい空気が流れています。

There’s a local summer festival happening right now at the nearby school ground! 🏮✨
Just seeing the lanterns glowing under the evening sky and the little festival stage makes me feel that nostalgic, childlike excitement.
Being able to casually wander into such a warm, local community festival is one of the best things about this neighborhood. It's the quintessential, nostalgic Japanese summer scenery.
A calm and pleasant breeze is blowing around Kamunabi tonight, too.
