Good morning from Niigata.
Rain continues from yesterday, with strong winds across the city today as well. From the 31st floor observatory at Hotel Nikko Niigata, the view is wrapped in soft gray skies and drifting rain clouds.
The weather is expected to gradually improve toward the evening. Even on rainy days, the changing scenery over the Shinano River and the Sea of Japan has its own quiet charm.

晴れ間が広がったかと思えば、雲が流れ込み、

Good morning from the observatory.

A cold wave continues across Niigata.
While snowfall in Niigata City remains relatively light thanks to the Sado weather effect, roads are icy this morning.
Heavy snowfall persists in other areas of the prefecture, including Joetsu and Chuetsu.
Please take extra care when heading out.

We are also pleased to share that the “Niigata Tenugui Exhibition” has opened at the observatory.
Enjoy the winter scenery alongside the beauty of Niigata’s traditional craftsmanship.
