雨上がりの日光
植物たちが心なしか、いきいきと輝いて見えます。

八重桜は満開、ツツジは8分咲き。
山の新緑とのコントラストがとてもキレイ！

A quiet moment after the rain at Morinouta.
The plants seem fresh and full of life.

The double cherry blossoms are now in full bloom,
and the azaleas are about 80% in bloom.
The contrast with the vibrant green mountains is simply beautiful.

八重桜も今ちょうど見ごろを迎えています。
春の彩りに包まれる日光で、ゆっくりとした時間をお楽しみください。

Azaleas have started to bloom in the garden at Mori no Uta.
The double cherry blossoms are also at their best right now.

森のうたの庭にも、春の気配が広がってきました🌿

クリスマスローズやスイセンが咲き、
山椒の若葉もやわらかく芽吹いています。

今週にはツツジ、来週には八重桜も咲きそう。
これからがいちばん気持ちいい季節です。

Spring is slowly arriving in the garden at Morinouta 🌿

Hellebores and daffodils are now in bloom,
and fresh sansho leaves are just starting to sprout.

Azaleas should begin blooming this week,
followed by double cherry blossoms next week.

This is one of the most beautiful times of the year here.

昨日は家体の花付け🌸
そして夜は、子どもたちが練習してきたお囃子を
親や町内のみなさんにお披露目する「打ち上げ」。

いよいよお祭り本番。
期間中はいい天気に恵まれますように☀️

Yesterday, we decorated the Yatai with flowers
In the evening, the children performed the festival music they had been practicing,
sharing it with their parents and the local community at a small gathering.

The festival is finally about to begin.
Hope we have beautiful weather throughout ☀️

小杉さんが作った日光産のコシヒカリはとっても美味しい😋

The Koshihikari rice grown in Nikko by my friend Kosugi is absolutely delicious 😋

FOODEX JAPANに行ってきました。
インバウンドのお客様からリクエストの多いヴィーガン・ベジタリアン、グルテンフリーなど世界の食のトレンドを勉強してきました。
トルコブースではいつもお世話になっている日本オリーブオイルソムリエ協会さんのセミナーも拝聴。とても学びの多い時間でした。

3月になり、春の野菜たちも徐々に出回り始めました。

今日は日光産の葉たまねぎ。
縦半分に切って断面をオリーブオイルでゆっくり焼くと、甘味が増してとても美味しくなります。

葉っぱの部分も、オムレツやヌタ、天ぷらにしても美味しいですよ。

As March arrives, spring vegetables are starting to appear.

Today’s ingredient is spring onions from Nikko.

When cut in half lengthwise and slowly cooked in olive oil, their natural sweetness becomes even richer and more delicious.

The green tops are also wonderful — great in omelets, nuta (Japanese miso dressing), or tempura.

弥生祭のポスターをいただきました🌸

先日、私も参加している上鉢石町で、お囃子の先生方との顔合わせがありました。
いよいよ今週から、お囃子の練習もスタートします。

春の日光に響くお囃子の音。
弥生祭に向けて、少しずつ町が動き始めています。

I received a poster for the Yayoi Festival in Nikko 🌸

The other day, we had a meeting with the festival musicians in Kamihatsuishimachi, the neighborhood where I also take part in the festival.
Starting this week, the practice for the traditional festival music will begin.

The sound of festival music will soon echo through Nikko in spring.
Little by little, the town is starting to move toward the Yayoi Festival.
