ちょっと特別で、
どこか懐かしい夏休み。

ここで過ごした時間が、
忘れらんない夏の思い出の

ひとつになっていたら嬉しいな。

Summer at Kuuhouse.

A special harvest experience at a friend's vineyard in Minami-Alps City.

First, they learned how to tell when grapes are perfectly ripe.

Then came the fun part — choosing their own bunches to take home, carefully selecting each one.

At Sanae-san's field, they harvested fresh vegetables to take home.

And then, we made udon together.

Always curious about everything around them, our little insect-loving explorers were absolutely thrilled when Keita found some rhinoceros beetles!

They caught four in total that day.
(Though only one came home with them. )

Picking vegetables from the fields.
Cooking together.
Searching for insects.

A summer holiday that felt a little special,
and somehow a little nostalgic.

We hope their time at Kuuhouse
becomes one of those unforgettable summer memories
they'll carry with them for years to come.

朝晩はまだ肌寒い
市川三郷の山保地区。
四尾連湖でSUPを楽しんだあと、
Kuuhouse へ。

早苗さんの畑で野菜を収穫し、
ほうとうを作って
山梨ブランド桃「夢桃香」の収穫も。

大切な旅先にKuuhouseを
選んでくださったこと、
皆さまのたくさんの笑顔に
出会えたこと
本当に嬉しく思います。

またいつか 「おかえりなさい！」と
お迎えできる日を 楽しみにしています。

ありがとうございます。

The mornings and evenings are still pleasantly cool here in the Yamaho district of Ichikawamisato.

After enjoying a day of paddleboarding on Lake Shibire,
you returned to Kuuhouse.
Together, we harvested fresh vegetables from Sanae-san's field,� cooked houtou,
Yamanashi's beloved local noodle dish,� and picked Yumetoka peaches,
one of Yamanashi's finest varieties.
We hope these days spent surrounded by nature will become a special part of your memories of Japan.

Thank you for choosing Kuuhouse for such an important part of your journey.
And thank you for bringing so many wonderful smiles into our home.

We truly enjoyed every moment together.
We hope that one day,

we'll be able to welcome you back with the words,

霧が立ちこめる林
強まった雨に揺れるあじさい
山がつつみこむ小さな湖。

子どもたちとのおしゃべり

静かな茶房で
時間がほどけていく。

「あわい」とは、
何かと何かの「あいだ」に宿る時。
ただただそこに身をゆだねる。

時間も、場所も、人も
ここではそのさかいめが少しだけやわらいで

そんな撮影旅になりました。

A grove veiled in mist.
Hydrangeas swaying in the gathering rain.
A small lake, held in the arms of the mountains.

Aimless words, shared with the children.

In a quiet tea house,
time comes gently undone.

"Awai" is the hour that dwells
in the space between one thing and another.
Here, you simply give yourself to it.

Time, place, and people —
their borders soften, just a little —

and so it became a journey told through the lens.

"おいしくなーれって言いながら作ると
本当においしくなるんだよ"

その魔法はわたしも信じてる。

An afternoon making udon at Kuuhouse.
Sanae-san, 85, was born and raised in this village.

Our mother, also 85, came here 40 years ago and made this place her home.
As we knead the dough together, stories unfold — of family, work, seasons, and a way of life shaped by these mountains.

After Sanae-san left, one guest turned to us and asked,
"Could you tell me more about her life?"
Perhaps that's what makes this experience so special.

It's never just about making udon.

毎年この時期になると
モリアオガエルが
産卵のため、空の家に帰ってくる。

雨のおとだったり
機械音に反応して
カスタネットのように
喉を鳴らす声がアチコチから
聞こえてくる。

木々に擬態してるかのようで
なかなか姿が見つからないけれど
時折こんなふうに
ひょっこりと姿を見せてくれる。

いつでもオタマジャクシに
なっていいように
水を張って待つ。

小さな子たちが
森に放たれるまでが
私たちとの時間。

今年も帰ってきてくれて
ありがとうね💚

Every year around this time, the forest green tree frogs return to Kuuhouse to lay their eggs.
On rainy days, or sometimes in response to the sound of a machine in the distance, their calls echo through the trees like the clicking of castanets.
Most of the time they remain hidden among the leaves, perfectly blending into the forest.

But every now and then, one quietly appears.

We keep water waiting beneath the trees, hoping the eggs will hatch safely into tadpoles.
For the next few months, we watch over them as they grow — from eggs, to tadpoles, to young frogs ready for the forest.
