Upopoy, the National Ainu Museum and Park, will open on Friday, April 24 2020. Here, visitors can explore, experience, and learn all about the wonderful Ainu culture. The whole family will enjoy Ainu dancing, food, crafts, and even special children's programs with fun games.

There is some exciting news for parents who want to come and play in the snow! For a limited time, Dai-ichi Takimotokan is offering a special half-price plan for elementary school-age children. In addition to this, younger children (those requiring no bedding) can stay free of charge. The plan will run until April 30 and we are currently accepting reservations!

The Noboribetsu Yu (Hot Spring) Festival was held in Noboribetsu Onsen on February 3-4. Held annually, the Hot Spring Festival celebrates the natural hot water and its healing powers. As you can see from the photos, it is a true celebration full of fun and plenty of hot water!

Happy New Year from Dai-ichi Takimotokan in Noboribetsu Onsen! We hope everyone is enjoying the start of 2020. We are so grateful for the visitors we received in Hokkaido, and we hope everyone will join us once again this year.

We have a number of wonderful New Year's traditions: a spiced medicinal sake served on New Year's Eve, a lion dance, and of course, no celebration would be complete without a performance by our taiko drum group.

Our next exciting event will be a Children's Festival in our hotel! We look forward to sharing all of this and more with you in the coming year!

One of our traditions at Dai-ichi Takimotokan is the year-end cleaning of our large bath. Our staff gathers to scrub and polish with warm thoughts of the past year and gratitude for the health-giving waters. Afterward, we decorate the pillar of the center bath and pray that the bounty of the hot spring will continue.
We all look forward to welcoming you back and enjoying the New Year together at Dai-ichi Takimotokan.
