今週から急に気温があがり、いよいよ夏がやってきました。御浜の海開きも終わり、7/18土からは海水浴場のシーズンになります。古民家と海水浴。いまどきの夏休みではないかもしれませんが、昼は穏やかな海でのんびり泳いで、夜は縁側で花火。そんな昔の夏休みを体験できる場所もずいぶん減ってきたと思います。田舎におばあちゃん家がないひとも、戸田の街ならそんな体験ができます。夏を楽しみましょう。

Temperatures have suddenly risen this week, and summer is finally here. The official opening of the beaches in Mihama has come to an end, and the swimming season begins this Saturday, July 18. Staying in a traditional Japanese house and going to the beach—it might not be your typical summer vacation these days, but imagine spending the day swimming leisurely in the calm ocean and watching fireworks from the ENGAWA at night. I think there are far fewer places left where you can experience a summer vacation like that from the past. Even if you don’t have a grandmother’s house in the countryside, you can still have that kind of experience right here in Heda. Let’s enjoy the summer.

梅雨の晴れ間。昨日の戸田は大変夕日が綺麗でした。風がまったくなく湾内はまるで湖のような雰囲気になります。ふだんは風の強い街なので、なんともいえない特別感があります。自然のことなので、旅行で来られる方はタイミングで当たり外れがありますが、コンディションの良い戸田を見た方はリピートしてくださる傾向にあります。最高の日の戸田は、たぶんどこにも負けない景色です。ぜひ観に来てください。

A break in the rainy season. The sunset in Heda yesterday was absolutely stunning. With not a breath of wind, the bay takes on the atmosphere of a lake. Since it’s usually a windy town, there’s an indescribable sense of something special about it. Since it’s a natural phenomenon, visitors on vacation may have mixed luck with the timing, but those who see Heda on a day with good conditions tend to come back. On a perfect day, the view in Heda is probably unmatched anywhere else. Please come and see it for yourself.

5月の戸田。晴れた日は最高に心地よいです。ただ歩いても、自転車に乗っても、釣りが釣れなくても、何もしなくても、ただただ心地よいです。もうすぐ梅雨になり、そして夏。戸田の季節にカウントダウンです。

Heda in May. Sunny days are absolutely delightful. Whether I’m just walking, riding my bike, fishing (even if I don’t catch anything), or doing absolutely nothing, it’s simply wonderful. The rainy season is just around the corner, followed by summer. The countdown to Heda’s seasons has begun.

今日の戸田は夏のような気温になりましたが、風が強かったので、釣りの人もまばらです。
だいぶ日が長くなり、18時頃にはきれいな夕日が見え、川や海のある戸田の自然がよく映えます。5年前までは縁のない街ですが、この景色はとても懐かしい気持ちになるから不思議です。４月、５月は戸田も過ごしやすい季節ですので、ぜひのんびりしにお越しください。

Although it felt like summer in Heda today, the strong winds kept the number of anglers to a minimum.
The days have grown considerably longer, and around 6:00 p.m., a beautiful sunset can be seen, perfectly highlighting Heda’s natural scenery along the river and the sea. It’s strange how this view makes me feel so nostalgic, even though I had no connection to this town until five years ago. April and May are pleasant months to visit Heda, so please come and relax here.

戸田もだいぶ暖かい日が増えて、今年もコタツの終わりが近づいてきました。
縁側にも日が差し込み、昼はだいぶ過ごしやくなり、御浜の散歩も釣りにも優しい季節になります。春休みはぜひ皆さんでお越しください。

Heda has seen many warm days lately, signaling the end of kotatsu season is near.
Sunlight now streams onto the Engawa, making afternoons much more pleasant.
It's becoming a perfect season for walks along the beach and fishing.
Please come visit during spring break.
