砂時計、羽毛などをモチーフにして、ものの固有性を詩的に増幅させるような作品をつくってきました。なかでも独自に加工したネオン管を、場を取り込んで展示する作品は、彼の興味をよく物語っています。国谷はまず、ネオン管を熱して息を吹き入れ、連続した膨らみをつくります。そしてそれに配置するにあたり、本来は表に出ない変圧器やコードもあえて一緒に見せます。こうすることによって、構造をあらわにしたネオン管が、サインとしてでも照明としてでもないままで、連なった球状spherical の光をゆらゆらと浮遊floatさせる不思議な空間を生むのです。本展覧会のタイトル“Deep Projection（深い突起）”は、一見すると逆説的paradoxで意味を捉えcaughtnがたいのですが、実は、展示室の高さと奥行きに国谷がどのように働きかけるかに深く関係しています。venue 会場でぜひ、その意味について考えてみてください。
また、当館所蔵のアルベルト・ジャコメッティ作品に呼応する形で、国谷が継続して制作しているネオン管によるシリーズ《Untitled》の新作も展示します。

hourglass, feathers as motifs, creating pieces by amplifying the identity in poetry. Above all, the originally processed neon tube exhibited at the place tells his interest.
First of all, Kunitani blows into the hot neon tube, creating a continuity to the bulge. And by arranging and showing the voltage converter and extension cords which are usually hidden, shown on purpose. By doing so, the structure of the neon tube is lighten not only as a sign or illumination, but produces a mysterious atmosphere of a floating continuous spherical light.
The title of the exhibition “Deep Projection” seems paradox at first, but the height and the depth of the gallery relates deeply on how Kunitani moves around. Please have a time to think about the definition at the venue.
Also by relating to Alberto Giacometti whom possess at the gallery, Kunitani’s latest continuous neon tube series “Untitled” will be displayed.

20世紀美術の巨匠、13年ぶりの大回顧展が開催。
1898年、ベルギー西部のレシーヌに生まれ、画家自身の言葉によれば、「目に見える思考」であり、世界が本来持っている神秘（不思議）を描かれたイメージとして提示したものである（。この点は、夢や無意識の世界を描き出そうとした他のシュルレアリスムとは異なっている。「言葉とイメージ」の問題を追求したマグリットの作品は、ミシェル・フーコーのような思想家にも発想源を与え、広告やグラフィックアートの分野にもその影響が見られるなど、20世紀の文化に与えた影響は大きい。この機会をお見逃し無く。

This exhibition is a retrospective of Belgian artist René Magritte (1898 -1967), one of the foremost painters of the 20th century.Known as a great master of Surrealism, Magritte achieved a unique artistic style that strongly influenced 20th-century art and design and, even today, continues to fascinate people throughout the world. This will be one of the most comprehensive Magritte exhibitions ever held, and the first such exhibition in Japan since 2002.Through the joint cooperation of the Magritte Museum, which opened in Brussels in 2009 as a part of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, the Magritte Foundation, and the organizers in Japan, the exhibition will feature some 130 works from art museums and private collections in more than ten countries.

A moon viewing event that represents Osaka, ”KANGETSU-SAI”.
Looking up the harvest moon above the arched bridge, the festival will be held at the first main shrine, listening to Japanese traditional poems, Haiku, music, and a dance will be dedicated to the god of shrine of Sumiyoshi, performed by children.

6年ぶりのシルバーウィークイベントvol.1!!

"岸和田だんじり祭”

大阪の古くからある土着的な祭、1703年当時の岸和田藩主であった岡部長泰が伏見稲荷大社を岸和田城三の丸に勧請し、五穀豊穣を祈願して行った稲荷祭を始まる。速度に乗っただんじりを方向転換させる「やりまわし」が醍醐味で、曳行コースの曲がり角は大勢の観客であふれる。また、だんじりに施された非常に精緻な彫刻も見所で、休憩時などの停止中に申し出れば見物を許可してくれることもある。もとは関西の一地方の祭であったが、昭和の終わり頃から多くのメディアで紹介されるようになり、一気に全国区の祭となった。近年、だんじりを所有する町会がさらに増加しており、規模が拡大しつつある。

"The Kishiwada Danjiri Matsuri”

The festival began in 1703 when the Daimyo of Kishiwada, Okabe Nagayasu, prayed to Shinto gods for an abundant harvest at Fushimi Inari-taisha, Kyoto.The Danjiri festival is divided principally into two festivals. The first is held in September and is the more famous of the two. The second occurs in October, is less famous but involves more Danjiri. The September Festival is itself divided in two. Again, the more famous is the Kishiwada danjiri centering around the Castle and runs from the Nankai line down to the seaside. The other Danjiri festival occurs in Haruki Town and centres on Nankai Haruki Station. The September Festival involves 34 Danjiri. In October the towns between the Nankai line and the mountains hold their own Danjiri Festivals. These involve 47 Danjiri and centre on the JR stations of Kumeda, Shimomatsu and Higashi-Kishiwada.

弘法大師空海による密教の道場建設から1200年を迎えた高野山。大師が残した大いなる遺徳への感謝を込めて絢爛壮麗な法会の数々が執り行われます。高野山真言宗の寺院とその檀信徒、他の宗派や寺院、あるいは僧侶や一般の別を問わず、日本全国から弘法大師を慕う人々が高野山を訪れて毎日、法会が行われます。壇場伽藍、奥之院をはじめ、山麓の慈尊院や丹生都比売神社など、弘法大師ゆかりの地を舞台に開創以来1200年目の壮大な祈りの光景が高野山上にひろがります。またとない機会をお見逃し無く。

Being for 1200 years Kukai founded a monastery in Koyasan

In 2015, Mount Koya greets the 1,200th anniversary of its founding by Kobo Daishi (Kukai) as a monastery for training. From April 2 through May 21, we will be paying tribute to Daishi’s monumental achievement with a range of magnificent events.Kobo Daishi entered a university in the capital at Nara when he was 18. Universities like this one were based on a curriculum in Confucianism and geared at training bureaucrats, so they had ceased to focus on academic disciplines that could be of use in helping society and laypeople. However, Kobo Daishi, who wanted to change the world and help those that suffered, soon grew to see the limitations of this kind of schooling. Temples in the capital city also possessed vast paddy fields and a terrain that seemed aristocratic in nature. The monks there violated the Buddhist precepts and seemed to live depraved, secular lives that differed in no way from the world outside. Dissatisfied with the corruption in the capital, Kobo Daishi left the university at age 20. He trained under Gonzo Daitoku at Makinoosan Temple and committed himself fully at that time to Buddhism. One theory says that Kobo Daishi went to Mount Omine in Nara to train in the forests, and that he had already explored an area at that time.In Heisei 27 (2015), Mount Koya welcomes its 1,200th anniversary. It has been exactly 1,000 years since the fifth year of Chowa. The Unceasing Light continues to light up Mount Koya throughout the months and years. The Walking Pilgrimage sets off from Okunoin and travels around Japan to bring this light to all. The light represents Kobo Daishi’s own lifeforce and shines radiantly on all sentient beings equally. We are unswerving in our faith that this light will rescue us.

大阪のみで開催されている巨匠ヴォルフガング・ティルマンスのレセプション。minimalな空間の中に、膨大な情報量が入っていて、思想の幅の広さに驚きながら、展示の方法もアタッチ（接着）を否定する彼ならではのクリップで展示されていたり。レセプションでは本人にもお会い出来た。作品の緻密さから、センシティブな方なのかと思っていましたが、心よくまさかのサイン迄頂いた最高の時間。9/23(web)まで展示されているので是非このタイミングにFAN HOTELにステイしてゆっくりとした時間と共に楽しんでみては!?

To the reception party of the great photographer, Wolfgang Tilmans exhibition only opening at Osaka.A great amount of information into the minimal atmosphere, become suprised to the spreading ideology. Every work are clipped, not shown by the usual wall hanging. And having a chance of meeting him…Thinking that he would be a sensitive man by looking into at his fine works, I was able to have the best time when he kindly gave me his signature and knowing how good hearted he is.
The exhibition held until 9/23 (wed), maybe a place to visit for spending a relaxing time while staying at FAN HOTEL…?

A new project started by 503, a work done by worldwide famous artists and FAN.Spreading the world of street art with Banksy,
the well known BEN EINE style seen in London, can also been seen in places of Osaka.Of course, they are bombed in FAN.
