Vanguard Paws(working title)
This place came into my life through connection and kindness.
With the generous support of local people who have always looked after me, I was able to purchase a traditional Japanese house just a 15-minute walk from the hostel I currently run. I truly can’t express how grateful I am.
In front of the house flows a crystal-clear stream, and all you can hear are the gentle sounds of the water and birds singing. It’s a truly special place where time seems to slow down.
Now, we’re bringing new life into this space.
We’re transforming the wide field in front of the house into a dog run. The work has already begun, and the ground leveling should be finished in a few days. After that, we’ll build a fence (using bamboo) and start renovating the house.
And now, I’m looking for people who want to be part of this journey.
If you’d like to help with the renovation, please get in touch. It’s a volunteer opportunity, but accommodation and two meals a day are provided. You’ll be working together with international volunteers, creating something meaningful from the ground up.
This is more than just helping out—
it’s about creating a place together.

「ボランティアの方を募集しています」
日頃からお世話になっている地元の方々に支えていただき、現在運営している宿から歩いて15分ほどの場所に、一軒の古民家を購入することができました。感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。ここを愛犬や愛猫と一緒に泊まれる宿にします。
家の前には透き通る清流が流れ、聞こえてくるのは川のせせらぎと鳥のさえずりだけ。清流には愛犬とともに簡単に入る事ができ、時間がゆっくりと流れる、本当に特別な場所です。
この場所に、新しい命を吹き込んでいきます。
まずは、家の前に広がる畑をドッグランへ。すでに作業は始まっており、整地はあと数日で完了予定です。その後、竹で柵をつくり、古民家の改修、バーベキュー場、サウナ作りへと進んでいきます。
そして今、この場所を一緒につくってくれる仲間を探しています。
改修作業をお手伝いしていただける方、改修作業の様子をビデオに撮って編集できる方、ぜひご連絡ください。ボランティアという形にはなりますが、滞在場所と昼夕2食付きです(皆で作って食べています)
英語教室や宿の仕事を手伝ってくれている外国人メンバーもいるので、自然と英語に触れることもできます。
8年前に今の宿を始めた時はボロカスに言ってきた人がいたけど、来てくれたお客様を死ぬほど大切にして、良くしてくれた人、応援してくれている近所の方達、働いてくれたボランティアの人たちへの感謝の気持ちを忘れずに、毎日ほんの少しでもいいからと改善を重ねてきたら、50年に一度と言われた災害にあっても、コロナで瀕死の状態になっても、なんとか生き残らせてもらえた。
今、新しい宿をゼロから作っていきます。良くして頂いた方への感謝の気持ちは忘れません。
